I don't know anything about her, other than that she's stunning, that's for sure!

Her name is Alia Bhatt, daughter of well known Indian producer & director here Mahesh bhatt. Has done quite good roles till now.
    DefenselessWelllitFoxhound-size_restricted.gif
But if they are going with an Indian actress then Disha patni should be the first choice, i mentioned her before as well, not my favorite Indian actress though but she is quite popular here, athletic body and she can perform stunts as well.

She does look good, sure, but she doesn't have the Bond vibe (in: I don't have any excuses but I wouldn't go for her).
Rather I'd see Deepika Padukone in a Bond film.

Only bcecause I love Ram Leela (2013)

    Emma Stone
    Brie Larson

Ahhh those were a fun few days.

Recently watched the trailer for James Gunn's new The Suicide Squad film - which looks fantastic. Which is giving me Quentin Tarantino vibes. Aside from Margot Robbie (who would be high on my list for a female 007), I have to say that Portuguese actress, Daniela Melchior is looking particularly interesting....Let's keep an eye on her performance in that film.

I completely agree @Pierce2Daniel, definitely won’t be surprised if Daniela ends up in a Bond film. Definitely keeps my eyes peeled...

...although I have to say despite the fact that a female 007 is kind of a reach I think in terms of happening, I do hope Margot is kept at an arms length from the Bond franchise. For me, she’s quickly becoming the female Ryan Reynolds in terms of exposure. She’s a great actress but with multiple films as Harley Quinn, possibly Barbie, and now possibly leading the new Pirates of the Caribbean, I don’t need her leading another franchise, and I don’t think she needs it either.

Because there will never be a female Bond. Margot would be the perfect Bondgirl.

Of course but tbh I’d also keep her away from a role like that too. Just personal preference, and nothing against her acting, but I prefer when the franchise doesn’t try and follow popular Hollywood casting.

    +1

She was one of the only good things in DAD. Almost like an evil Grace Kelly (which is a pretty terrific notion). But as an actress, Pike has come on leaps and bounds since DAD. She was scene-stealing in Gone Girl and so compelling playing Marie Colvin. She really never fails to disappoint. I fully endorse the view that Pike could return as another character.

I was also watching the trailer from Wes Anderson's next film, The French Dispatch. It struck me how many Bond alumni were in that film (especially from the Craig era), you have Lea Seydoux, Matheiu Amalaric, Christoph Waltz, Jeffrey Wright and Benicio Del Toro. Quite the line-up indeed. I was quite struck by Lyna Khoudri. She is a French-Algerian actress and is very beautiful. I could imagine her in a Madeleine Swann or Melina Havelock esque part in a future film......What do people think?

It depends on who was cast as Bond, but if we're assuming Daniel Craig, I'd say Andrea Riseborough. 100%.

Interesting choice; she only really sticks out in my mind from Possessor, but by all accounts she’s a chameleonic actor.

Very much so, she's one of my favourites; I still need to check out Possessor, cause I also Christopher Abbott, and I'm kinda frustrated that he's American because he'd make a great James Bond I think.

    I don't care.
  • If a 2020 remake of OHMSS was being produced, who would you cast as Tracy?

I'm pretty sure the character of Madeleine Swann is thought of as a reboot of Tracy, sharing a lot of similarities (half French, criminal father, making Bond fall in love). But, even regardless of that, Léa Seydoux already seems to me to be the perfect Tracy of our time, and perfectly matches the image I have of the fair-haired character from the pen of Fleming. I think that's especially true when in Spectre Madeleine arrives with Bond in Morocco: all dressed in white, she is reminiscent of Tracy's first appearance in the OHMSS novel on Royale's beach wearing a white bathing-wrap, here's illustrated by Fay Dalton:
    ohmss.jpg

I must admit, though, that it wouldn't have occurred to me to choose her as Tracy alongside Craig and that she would have been much better paired with someone like Aidan Turner. Together they could have formed a perfect Bond/Tracy couple. Otherwise, the other actress that comes to mind would be Vanessa Kirby, always having as a model the character described by Fleming rather than her interpretation by Rigg.
