Still half way through Doom Patrol season 1, reluctant to watch the new trailer in case of spoilers, the show what I have seen so far is good.

If true revisiting the Burtonverse will be pretty awesome.

I think this is a bad idea - another example of the DCEU getting ahead themselves, and that comes from someone who doesn’t even like Marvel that much and prefers the DC comics...

I just think they’re making it too messy. We have way too many universes in the DCEU already, and we haven’t even earnt it.

I’m more interested in Reeves/Pattinsons Batman series, and think everything else is a jumbled mess, so to keep messing everything around makes me think Pattinson’s Batman is gonna suffer.

We have the Harley Quinn stuff which I’m not a fan of, Suicide Squad which I am intrigued by but still messy, the Snyder Cut and if that’s successful along with Wonder Woman 1984 and Aquaman 2, we’ll get more from that cast, the Joker film that might get a sequel, the Pattinson Batman, and now a Flash movie with Michael Keaton, which means more mess.

Shrugs I say drop the Pattison stuff entirely and give us a third Keaton Batman film similar to Kingdom Come's batman

I agree I rather see Keaton return.

We’re getting both anyway, why only pick one or the other?

The problem for me is that the DCEU are throwing so much at the wall to see what sticks, that they might miss some real gems that deserve more attention. It’s already confused as it is without trying to do the whole multiverse thing that they haven’t really earnt.

If it was animation I could get onboard, but this whole concept with Keaton’s Batman in Flashpoint in live action - I’m not feeling it. Also people want this to mean that Pheiffer could return as Catwoman, but is that really the best idea while trying to push Kravitz’s Catwoman.

It seems to be working out for them this way rather than just sticking to a single universe that everyone has to be the same page on. DCEU being allowed to be more diverse.

Honestly, there's barely a DCEU anymore. Pattinson's The Batman can't actually sit alongside Affleck's Baman V Superman or Justice League, and now we potentially have Keaton returning for Flash. At least with that one, it could be argued that Keaton's Batman is from an alternate Earth, especially if they're planning to do the Flashpoint story like rumors have suggested.

The DCEU ended with Justice League, as far as I'm concerned. Yes, we've had Aquaman, Shazam, Harley Quinn and soon Wonder Woman 84 and The Suicide Squad to follow up on individual character arcs from that universe, but DC's strength is solo stories, and they should be allowed to play to that. Even their TV universe becomes more and more a mess with every following season, and I say this still enjoying them.

They manage to juggle the standalones well with their animated films, there's no reason they can't do the same with live action.

It’s possible; and I’d love it to all work out perfectly for all their films, but I just can’t help but feel their haste on certain things and lack of direction is what hurt them before so don’t want to see it happen again.

Not to mention their overeager marketting that caused at least Batman V Superman to "underperform" at almost $900 million.

With Batman, they certainly hoped it would at least do the magic it did with TDK and TDKR, that’s why they shoved him in a film instead of doing a proper MOS sequel.

Also, for the next Superman movie, how about seeing some villains we haven’t seen on the big screen, before? Brainiac and Metallo, perhaps?

+1, I’d even take Toyman as a side villain. All no villains not from DC comics, movie makers! We all saw how well that worked in Superman 3 & 4.

The Batman will reportedly resume filming in September. However, all location shooting is reportedly scrapped and everything will be built & shot in studio going forward.

This would make it the first Batman movie to be mostly shot in studio since Batman & Robin.
