Then I hope you have informed the Turner fans here, they are equally sure. ;)

If I was Aidan Turner I would be applying for a few restraining orders.

Lol. Seriously, I have a feeling it's going to be him. I felt it was Craig way before the rumours emerged too. He's young, cool, edgy, a fantastic actor and has a relatively small profile at present. He's someone no one ever really mentions. It won't be Cavill or Turner. BB will make another unexpected, leftfield choice. Mark my words, Bond number 007 is Jack Lowden. Get yourselves down to your local bookmakers.

Now now boys, don't start with the insults again. Don't call anyone a fanboy, don't say that there are this and that clubs just because there is a clear majority rooting for a name. It's just a plain democratic vote. That's all.

My preference would be Fassbender as previously mentioned, but as discussed he may be getting on a bit for Bond now.

I always felt Fassbender would have been perfect for a period piece Bond, but I agree his window is passing by.

I am not certain that Turner will get it. I have no idea. Nobody here does, really. I'm just stating my preference.
  • Aidan Turner for me.

Well a letter from this place got NTTD delayed, maybe a letter from MI6 will get Aiden cast as well. ;)

Too many white bois being mentioned. It is beyond time for a black, British Bond.

Idris Elba would have been a hell of a Bond. But he’s now 47, therefore ineligible.

So for this poll I've chosen Dan Stevens. I also like the idea of others like Fassbender and Auden Turner, I could get used to Cavill and Hiddleston if I had to (I won't have to though!)
However I think the most exciting thing is the not knowing and having the rug pulled when the casting happens. The chances of our favourite being picked is slim and the chance of us all being happy is VERY slim. I remember watching Layer Cake back in 2004ish. Really enjoyed it and thought DC was great, however only as part of an otherwise great cast. Not for one second did I think of him as Bond. (Back then I was one of the Clive Owen brigade!!!!)
However when BB cast Craig, I thought oh,ok? Then let it settle, watched Layer Cake again and thought yeah I can see this working. (The scene that stuck out for me was the one when he is walking around the bedroom with a gun in a 'Bond' pose)
So anyway, my point is fast forward to 2021/22 and the unknown, unpredictable and possible left field choice will be exciting again...

I’d like to be surprised as well. I remember Layer Cake getting a lot of hype in 2004, but I honestly don’t remember hearing of Craig being a contender for Bond until the very day he was cast.

He was mentioned in the media some weeks prior, along with several others. He immediately became my favourite to take over.

Although I voted Fassbender. Christian Bale would still make a great Bond.
  • I feel Aidan Turner can capture the spirit of Fleming's Bond the most, so that's my vote for now.

I did too. I would love Fassbender to take over the role, but the age discussion comes into play, same with Bale.

I've finally hunkered down to watch the Witcher. Henry Cavill all the way. He has gravitas and is good looking in a non threatening way that apparently appeals to women in the Asia pacific region and he's popular enough to get behinds in the seats. Need I say more?

Cavills a bit of a boring choice. Not silly, just a tad boring.
