Let's go GF and CR. Very close in terms of the former, not so very close in the case of the latter.

While both Goldfinger and Casino Royale are in my top 10 favourites in the franchise, it's Thunderball for me on both counts. It's second behind OHMSS and to me is the quintessential Connery Bond film, IMO. I've gushed about TB enough on these forums, but Connery is really at the height of his powers in this film and the supporting cast around him are fantastic with scenes like "My dear girl, don't flatter yourself. What I did this evening was for Queen and country. You don't think it gave me any pleasure, do you?" or "I think he got the point!". Behind Peter Hunt, Terence Young is my favourite Bond director and he clearly demonstrates what made him brilliant in TB. I love the meeting with all the OO agents prior to Bond going to the Bahamas. The relationship between Bond and Largo is far superior to that of him and Goldfinger and I love the cat and mouse throughout the entire film. Scenes like "I know a little about women" or "I thought I saw a SPECTRE at your shoulder" are highlights of the franchise, IMO. The cinematography is breathtaking and the underwater battles were truly groundbreaking at the time. John Barry's score is up there as one of the best in the series and I love Tom Jones balls-to-the-wall opening tune.

GF. While TB contains (IMO) Connery’s most assured Bond performance, I find GF to be better paced.
CR. Even without some of the usual tropes CR is “Classic Bond.” And did I forget to mention the lovely Eva Green?!

    GF vs SP

Easy choices for both, though a few months ago I would have gone with SP over GF, but while I have no love for GF, SP has been gradually slipping down my list.

FRWL, despite my love for LTK. It makes sense.

GF, also despite my love for the other contestant. These are tough choices, to be fair.

FRWL (even though I love LTK I can't go against my favourite Bond film)
