Just listened to the Van Jensen JBR interview. It’s a great listen and well worth your time.
It’s confirmed on the podcast that the Live and Let Die adaptation will be released on Dec 17th.

Thanks, did he say anything about MR?
Jensen confirmed that he isn’t working on a MR adapatation. LALD will be his last. Sadly he didn’t mention if there even was a MR adaptation in the works.

Oh, maybe they hired someone to work on it while Jensen was doing LALD.

Shame. I'd love to see MR treated in a similar fashion.

Dynamite is releasing a new Hardcover edition containing both Vargr and Eidolon by Warren Ellis.

If they are so proud of his two comics, this would be a perfect opportunity to bring him back for another series.

Oh that sounds cool! Looking forward to it.
So is this like a collection of short stories? Or is this one series with different writers per issue?

Wow. That hardcover looks stunning. What a fantastic idea!
  • What a great idea! I suppose that's one way to get Diggle back. I love how Ales Kot isn't involved at all. Really looking forward to this but surprised they're not releasing it closer to NTTD.

I hope they pick a really good artists for this. They have plenty.

I would love to see Dan Panosian getting more involved for example, besides covers.

I wonder if the overall story will be a homage to Nobody lives Forever? I still can't shake the feeling that Blofeld will show up in one of these stories.

Reflections of Death will feature more than 20 Artists.

The Cover is by Fay Dalton by the way. No wonder it's so good.

As happy as I am with Dynamite and their James Bond work, it upsets me that they always delay their hardcover collections. It's been happening again, with both Oddjob and Origins, and like CR, LALD keeps getting pushed back. Fingers crossed for a Blofeld story soon, and a Moonraker, On Her Majesty's Secret Service and Colonel Sun graphic novel adaptions.

Or the Blofeld trilogy as one big graphic novel. All three of them deserve it. The legal rights are available, use them!

I'm very happy that there will be a stand-alone one! But 20 artist? It's never a good sign...

I believe that's 20 creators. Includes writers. Could be 1 writer & 1 artist apiece for 10 different stories...

That is right, it's 20 creators. Though that sounds quite excessive for a 128 page HC book. For comparison Case Files Vol. 1 with it's 4 one shots had over 150 pages.

I'm just really glad to see guys like Diggle, Casalanguida and Percy back in the game, even if i find the format a bit strange.

But let's worry about that later, for now my focus is 100% on next wednesday, which will be a full dose of Bond, as we get our first taste of the next film and the next comic series.

This article contains a list of all writers and artists, and a couple interesting quotes from each writer about their view of Bond.

    It's not a good start.

I must say I absolutely love the cover for the upcoming LALD graphic novel. I am buying it for the cover alone. I'd even buy a poster of it

The review doesn't really motivate me to disinterest. I have no problem with a slower start. Let's see what the next couple of issues have to say. :)

In fact, I first need to read #1 myself. ;-)

    Ok....

I'm pretty much done with Dynamite.
I just finished reading #1 and I will cancel my subscription to this new series and all upcoming ones, and check the comics, before i buy any.

It's so painfully obvious where they are going with this crap. I already suffered through this for 12 month with Oddjob and I will not support this any longer.

There is now a 0.2 percent chance this series will not be utter garbage, with an representation agenda shoved in there for good measure, and Bond being completely sidelined again. And Dynamite has the audacity to call this "James Bond"?!

Well, it was nice while it lasted.
  • It's a shame because Dynamite were doing so well! Kill Chain, Felix Leiter and even Black Box were great fun Bond adventures! Arguably Dynamite should have carried on with these writers/stories. Oh well, I may pick up this new issue in the coming days, and the new hardbacks when, or at the moment, if, they become available. I really enjoyed Origins so looking forward to carrying on with that arc.

I don't think Oddjob was all that bad. Origin was the one to let me down.

Have you read all 12 issues of each series @DarthDimi?
Oddjob gets worse while Origins gets better especially in the second half.

I have, now that both series are complete. I had the opposite reaction, to be honest. :)

Not the biggest fan of #1 of James Bond. It's not very Bondian at all. That being said I'm happy to see it through and discover how it all plays out. Fingers crossed the next issue will be a big step up.

OK, so... Here's my thoughts on the new run.
Bond is very much a cameo. He appears in what, 2 pages, 3 pages at most?

BUT... I think more than anything it's a set up for future issues, or so I hope.

If not, this would definitely be... well, quite disgraceful.
  • Alright the first issue of the new series is awful! Say what you want about the Body, at least the Body had James Bond in it! The story isn't engaging, the art looks boring, and I didn't like the new characters. I honestly don't think the authors know what makes Bond appealing. Sorry to keep going on about it, but why could they not have got Diggle back for a third? I would guarantee that that series would be far superior to this one right now.

Wasn't the Live and Let Die graphic novel meant to be released today? I checked my Amazon order (which I pre-ordered in August for a September release) and there's no sign of it being in stock.

Mine shipped out today. Supposed to arrive tomorrow. Let and Let Die is going to be the only graphic novel Ill enjoy compared to these recent entries. At least, I'm pretty sure.
