Okay, I'm new to this forum, long time Bond fan and super excited about the new trailer.

    I just noticed this:

    nttd-trailer.png

The girl in the back of Bond's 4x4 while Bond is being chased through Russia (or Norway) at 1:44 into the trailer looks to be the same girl being chased by the man (Safin) with the broken mask that was filmed back in March 2019

    norway-filiming.png

The article with a video of that filming is here: https://express.co.uk/videos/6019856278001/James-Bond-25-First-look-at-filming-in-Norway

So I'm thinking/speculating Madeline's secret Bond mentions at the start of the trailer is Madeline's daughter, or someone's daughter close to Bond, and the film is about saving the young girl.

Anyway, that's my speculation and observations about the trailer.

Oh my gosh @mtm, you've revealed something even more interesting: the welcome return/continuation of the Dymo Labelmaker presence.

    Exciting times.

They’re not Dymo labels though: they’re engraved metal.

Long post ahead, but hear me out & please tread carefully as I don’t know how to use spoiler tags...

I’ve rewatched the trailer quite a bit now. I think I might have figured out how part of the story plays out...

Blofeld says to Bond what I, at first thought was: “her secrets will be the death of you.” He actually says: “her secrets will be the death of HIM.” “Him” is Rami’s character, Safin I’m guessing.

What if much of the plot revolves around Safin’s operatives trying to capture/kill Madeline?

This is reinforced during the DB5 scene when the one dude with the machine gun approaches the car, he’s pointing his gun directly at Madeline’s window. Not Bond’s.

We know Léa is seen in the tan Land Cruiser in the Norway scenes. Perhaps she is kidnapped until Bond comes to the rescue and overtakes the driver of the Land Cruiser.

We then see Bond watching a helicopter fly away. Maybe after the Land Cruiser chase, they capture Madeline again & fly her away via chopper to Safin’s lair. Hence Bond & Nomi infiltrating Safin’s lair on a rescue mission.

I’ve only come to this conclusion from watching the trailer 1000 times today. I have a strong feeling about this. My only question is: how/why does Madeline wind up in Norway/Russia/whatever?

Hey @DonnyDB5 , if you do need to use spoilers then select the 6th icon along the grid above your comment box, which is 'format'. There's a down arrow where you can select the spoiler tag.

Pretty sure he’s saying ‘Death of you‘, not him.

I think he's saying "him", and Blofeld, at that point, isn't talking to Bond. The edit just makes it look like he is. I'd guess he's talking to Madelene.

Gave it a shot, not really impressed, sadly. Seems to be even more of that brooding, personal angle, lots of "secrets from the past" being dug up, etc. I hope I'm wrong and the film blows me away.

Agreed. I almost groaned when that snippet of dialogue came up.

Like you, I hope I'm wrong.

I think that's just the nature of the beast. The Craig era is an arc, full of secrets and hidden pasts. No point changing it all at this late stage. His story arc needs to be completed. If they ignored Madelaine or Blofeld everyone would be asking whatever happened to these characters, and saying how ridiculous it was to pretend they didn't exist.

I still think that the trailer wants us to think that certain issues (like her having a daughter) will happen.

If her big secret is a daughter, well... okay...

Felt a little underwhelmed by it.
Though there looks to be good stuff in it.
The visuals mainly, and Craig is still good, Malek looks really creepy, Ana looks stunning, and the action looks up to scratch.
Not liking Nomi character, think shes going to be annoying! Costumes look odd too!! And Blofeld appearance looks flat and uninspiring! Overall not bad but doesnt blow me away!

With you all the way with that summing up @Mathis1

The Nomi character seems a little smug IMO

Let's hope "yo momma!" isn't one of her lines! 😄

So this is pure conjecture from me. But going back to Mr White's speech in Spectre. He says how he could no longer follow Spectre, owing to them targeting women and children. What if something happened to Madeline when she was young. What if she was killed, or infected? I've had a look at the trailer and it's definitely her in the back seat of the 4x4 - but weirdly she looks younger.

Given that Blofeld also seems to have been able to stave off getting any older - this all fits into the biological element, that's potentially been weaponised. I also feel that the lair shot with the red-suited people and led lights is indeed some sort of algae growth tank. Apparently the LED lights help speed up photosynthesis.

Maybe am wrong....but am thinking if Armas played Lynch's character she might have gotten a very warm reception even before the first trailer. I think Lynch not been a mind-blowing beauty like Armas plays a huge role on how the public receive her character. Coz Armas seems to be getting positive reviews even when it seems like her screen time might be limited. But then again they knew why they wanted a not too attractive actress to play Nomi.

Ages since I posted but the trailer gets the juices flowing. I remember watching an early SP trailer that included music from OHMSS. It looked amazing and I really was hooked. But we all know what happened re the actuial movie. I'm sorry to sound dull but the fact is that it's really down to the script. Yes. there are promising moments in the trailer but does it hold together as an immersive and dramtic two hours or so. By defintion, we won't know until our bums are on the seats in April. Classic Bond movies are not judged by their trailers. So, learning from SP, fingers crossed but I have concerns.

As said, based on the italian trailer, he's clearly saying YOU
  • Blofeld says "when our secret finds its way out, it'll be the death of him".

Thanks, but I'll trust my ears on this one. It's not even ambiguous. Have another listen.

The trailer is the number one trending video on YouTube.

The US and UK JamesBond007 YouTube channels are splitting the view count. Combined, they're at about 13 million views in a little less than 24 hours. This, of course, doesn't include the various non-English trailers that were put out yesterday.

@007Blofeld No, I definitely do NOT think Norway doubles for Japan. They are just using a Noh mask and I think it's superbly eerie.

Well his lair -and maybe even outfit- are pretty Japanese too, so I think he’s got some sort of obsession there. But it does look to be in Norway.

Japan has been mentioned quite a lot, which makes me still wonder whether we are going to get some kind of Shatterhand storyline, loosely based on YOLT?

This reminds me of people hearing Andrew Scott's voice when the "Welcome James, you came across me so many times yet you never saw me" lines were spoken in the SPECTRE trailer.

I have nothing against your ears, but italian is much clearer, and it says her(actually could also be him in italian, but mixing it with the english one it's clearly her) and you.
    so... sorry

It's "you" with his americanised Austrian accent. Definitely "you". I don't even understand how some people hear "him". I could've hear the trailer in the next room and it would still sound "you".

I watched the trailer again this morning, don't know about anybody else but every time I see it I feel more excited by the movie.

I don't know why but I get the feeling Nomi isn't all she seems, as if there is something more to her than just be a fellow agent. I have a feeling she could be a traitor. That weird "threat" felt so out of place it made me think is that a hint at her having a darker more sinister side?
I think it would make her character more interesting

I like that we see Bond and Moneypenny visiting Q , at what looks like his flat? But that makes me think is Bond being helped by Q and Moneypenny off the record like in Spectre?
I preferred the humour between Q and Bond here, rather than the Bond, James Bond line to be honest. It felt more natural and less like I was watching a television show or Johnny English. It felt very forced

When I watched this time I noticed that the person wearing the mask seems to look different behind the window than it does on Safin. I'm not sure maybe it's just me but the posture sort of reminds of Madeline, could this be something to do with her secret? Even though I do feel I'm probably wrong, perhaps this is just an intentional misdirect from the editors

I love how after watching the trailer 3 times now, I am not only more intrigued but I feel like I know less than I did before. Credit to the editors and everyone involved

3 times, @Jordo007? Good for you, old boy. Must say I've watched about 30 times already. And it keeps getting better. This will make a ton of money and secure future Bond endeavours for EON, whenever they might be, and with whomever. That being said, I wish Craig would do a sixth. He never looked better than this, not even in CR, IMO.
