After watching it again for the umpteenth time, it could just be the trailer, but I'm getting a very gritty, raw, almost QoS sort of vibe. Also lending to this are the photos we've seen of Bond looking very beaten up.

All in contrast to the grander and more traditional vibes of Skyfall & Spectre.

Interesting that Blofeld looks deprived of a single eye. Also, I think it looks like a team is breaking into the prison to set him free. The windows, bombs, ropes and such.

This film looks so good I can’t believe there are some haters out there who are saying it looks american or woke or SP2. Tell ya what, in 2002, after DAD I couldn’t have believed we’d have 5 bond films of this sort of quality throughout the next 18 years. I’d never dream we’d have such talent and expertise and overall value associated with the brand again. Not after that plastic fiasco from 2002. NTTD just looks luxurious as hell, and that cinematography sets it apart from anything else. How can one be a Bond fan (and I’ve been called a Fleming purist more than once here) and not like it is beyond me. But hey, I like all Bond films (yes, even that cgi fest called DUD, a tiny bit) and I’ve been an active fan since the Dalton years. And I was a Brosnan fan too. And a Craig fan. Heck, what’s not to love, it’s a freakin new Bond film, with Ken Adam like sets and creepy villains and exotic locations and cars. Now all we need is a brilliant song and some killer titles. Bring on April!!!

Btw, happy birthday @Denbigh!! What did you think of this combo day (Knives Out and trailer)? Hope you’re at least as happy as I am.

Other than the dodgy green screen before the bridge jump, I really don’t have any negatives! Bring on April!!!

Where are you seeing green screen?

I think the Cabin will be the PTS, then Matera right after. Or Matera is part of the PTS. Mostly why I think this is there needs to be enough time between Bond & Madeline breaking up, which I assume happens in that location, and Bond seeing her again to meet Blofeld that it's believably a shock to him to see her again.

So maybe Cabin, Matera, Jamaica, Cuba, London, Norway.

Who the hell knows really. Those scenes of Nomi in action were unexpected.

I agree chronologically. The Matera scene seems too long to be the the PTS. Unless Norway happens to be a flashback at a different part of the film.

Perhaps then Norway is the PTS. Would be a creepy and mysterious way to set up the plot given that the mask seems to be very significant.

I think it will be. The mask could be the last thing we see before the PTS transitions into the titles sequence, like the ring was in Spectre.
He obviously loses it at some point early because it ends up with Madeleine.

But then Bond may not be in the PTS if that happens. That doesn’t feel likely to me.

"History isn't kind to men who play God." is a DAMN similar line to "Our asylums are full of people who think they're Naploeon. Or God." from Dr. No...

SP had a similar line from Bond to Blofeld.

The trailer feels much fresher than Skyfall and Spectre, which felt tired and...weighty?

Craig's suits look to be cut properly this time (again unlike SF and SP). Nice touch on the guitar in the opening, and overall I'm at least intrigued to see where this goes.

This might actually be the time when the try for a 'more serious story' actually gets off the ground.

    Couple of observations:

-01:55: Guess the rumor of a dancefloor being gassed was true.
-01:53: Full face mask and the same jacket as the scene on the icelake, where the mask is partly destroyed. So he must encounter some opposition at the hut. Mr. White?
-Lynch sounds wooden. Hope her part is smaller than the news has suggested.

When Bond says your a 00 and does Noami say 2 years or 2 yes?

    She says 2 years.

So that means that the movie is happening 2 years after SPECTRE i'd say?

The trailer is fantastic—full of energy and wit. I think Lashana Lynch will be the real standout.

I think they miiiiiiight be setting up the angle that he is Dr. No (time to die)

A really lazy move if it ends up a reality.

His lair even reminds me of Dr. No's

Also, in the frames in the trailer where the plane flies away from the explosion- it's clear that the object being blown up is an oil rig of sorts. I'm assuming it's related to the Jamaica footage we saw a few months ago, due to it likely being the same plane. Jamaica may be both the beginning and ending of the film.

Hey, if that gets Bond to fight a giant squid and go through the trials he did in Dr. No, Id be up for it.

The new Omega even has 62 inscribed on its back.

That's an interesting observation. I assumed it was a solo mission Nomi was on as a way to introduce her.

It’s probably the same laboratory assault that damaged the 007 stage. A Spectre assault at a government genetic facility, many have speculated. But hey...probably.

The glass is really perplexing. Why is Safin wearing a heavy coat with a new mask in London?

If the flashback theory is true...Safin never went to the mall and bought a new coat?

I've put some of our puzzle's most intriguing pieces in order:

So, they'll team up and discover whats beneath Safi'ns lair...

(Somebody please help me make the images visible here... I'm not understanding how to make it work)

    EDIT: Now they work

This looks more like a proper cinematic Bond film than all the rest of the Craig outings, to me at least. Loved Casino Royale for being so Fleming but this reeks of classic film Bond.

I think a Bond film helmed by an American director was always going to be slightly different from ones helmed by British Directors. But it doesn't mean it would be a bad bond film. It might have some scenes, costumes & dialogue we bond fans aren't innately used to. But still, James bond is back. The feel about the trailer reminds me of how we doubted Craig but came to understand his casting after the first few minutes of CR. Am hoping that's the case with NTTD.

I'm getting a very modern, gritty vibe more like his first two entries. Cary did say CR was his favorite bond film.

I'm not seeing it but is it really lazy or even a problem if they do? I mean, depending on your count, the fifth or sixth Joker iteration just made a billion dollars at the box office. We accept a new Blofeld, why not a new Dr. No? Lazy is simply remaking DR. NO.

I'm getting a sense that there are going to be some controversial plot elements in this which divide people the way SPECTRE did.

I think this also. When Brofield says the "secret will kill him" he's probably talking to Swan. I'm thinking ...
    A daughter.

I have been saying this for months...
    That's who the girl is.

    BUT...
The way the mask is revealed suggests that it's a relic from Madeleine's past, so who knows.

Absolutely love what I'm seeing so far. It looks to be combining the gritty nature of the Craig films with a very grandiose villain's scheme. SP did the opposite. It had the tone of a Moore/Brosnan entry with a much too realistic villain scheme. I prefer what NTTD is doing much more.

@Univex, that is so well put. @delfloria, I'm with you.
So very happy with all I am seeing, trailer and stills. This will be a hot, beautiful, shimmering, fateful Bond story well told with stunning cinematography. No complaints at all. This is just solidifying my faith in Cary and Linus.

AND - kinda important - Daniel looks amazing. So fit, so full of intensity and energy and purpose. I didn't even notice the smaller things at first - like his suits fitting better or his hair just right, because this story looks to be very compelling and beautifully shot.

The most intriguing shot of the whole thing for me has to be the hundreds of workers in red hazmat suits in the water with fluorescent lights.

@Univex It was yesterday, but thank you and it's been a great week so far haha :D

Anyway first off, I have to say I was not expecting to see so much, but I'll take it. Obvs.

    - Cinematography is on point.
    - The stakes feel so much higher.
    - I love that it seems we're getting a personal connection and a proper villain's plot.
    - Matera is gonna be an amazing sequence. Love the action and the romantic scenes.
    - That Universal/Window twist shot was incredible and majorly unexpected.
    - Jamaica looks beautiful.
    - Lashana Lynch looks great. Love her line about the "knee".
    - She says 2 years guys. She's got a proper modern London voice which I like.
    - I like that there's gonna be some friction between them at first.
    - The presumed dead thing felt weird but I don't think it's gonna be as big of a thing as people think.
    - Blofeld's back. Cool. I would've given him a beard personally.
    - Lea Seydoux, I love you. Glad to see you're getting more to do.
    - Major Live and Let Die vibes from Craig running through trees to the helicopter.
    - The Norway sequence looks it might be a highlight of the film.
    - Love the white mask.
    - Everyone stepping away from Bond is so cool.
    - As is the "gas" scene if that's what it is.
    - Malek's base looks beautiful.
    - ACTION PACKED!
    - Ana de Armas looks beautiful too and is kicking ass.
    - Now the base shot iwth the lights in the water and what looks men red suits looks ripped straight out The Spy Who Loved Me but with a modern twist.
    - Nomi killing it in Cuba.
    - The Aston stunt is perfect.
    - And gunbarrel reference on point.

Overall, frickin' love it. This film looks like it could be the most classic James Bond film we've seen, even more than CR and SF, only because it feels like it has a classic plot, lots of iconic characters that get involved, high-stakes, and all of that with the modern context of the Craig-era. It just already feels like it belongs to sit on the shelf with every other film. Bring on April 2nd. I think people are gonna be remembering No Time to Die for a very long time :)

P.S. I'd maybe stop with the trailers after this, but that might be difficult considering how long we've still got.
