This really is shaping up to be the M:I Fallout of Craig's era. The amount of action we've seen so far is crazy.

    You think?

We have only seen the bridge jump and the Aston chase - which is all part of the same sequence.

If anything, NTTD has the least amount of action shot on location than any of the Craig films. There is no major action sequence in Norway or Jamaica (one explosion doesn't count as a sequence) - only Italy.

This is a very Pinewood heavy film. I anticipate a heck of a lot more drama than action.....akin to SF

Did you forget about the car chase in Norway? Toyota, bonds V8, a bunch of range rovers?

The long winding bridge, Scotland/Norway forest and the castle?

Also in Norway young Madeleine shoots two men trying to break into her house. She falls into the ice and then there was a huge water sequence filmed at pinewood..

Also in Jamaica we know there’s a plane and boat sequence on the dock. With a huge explosion. We saw craig with his gun out and a harpoon. We see his old school Land Rover driving at fast speeds and him driving a motorcycle at night.

That’s at least three action sequences...

You see, that's the stuff I love. Especially in the 90's growing up. A new Bond film comes out and EVERYBODY jumps on the Bandwagon to get a piece of promo. Consequently doing promo for Eon too.

Not sure what this is about but we'll find out soon.

I thought that as well actually and I wouldn't be surprised if all the praise for MI has made them up their game a bit action wise in the same way that Bourne seemed to back in the day. CR put Bond pretty much top of the league for western/Hollywood action films for the first time in ages, only Bourne came close at the time but I think CR was better because they didn't resort to shaky cam. Over the last few years though the crown has definitely slipped imo. QoS was ruined by the editing. SF's action was well coreographed and shot beautifully but just didn't feel very hard hitting. SP's fight scenes felt more visceral again so that was good, but the car chase and plane chase were pretty disappointing. So I hope NTTD is a step up on that front. It is looking good so far.

So obviously Bond’s retired when he gets the DB5 back at the end of Spectre. You would think that Q put the gadgets back in there.

We know from a video clip that his machine guns in the headlights still work. Ejector seat.

I wonder what else he has. I’m hoping he gets some gadgets in this. Maybe a laser in his watch?

I watched some of the filming in Matera today. You could hear the gunfire across the whole city! It echos in the valley and in the narrow streets. I saw Madeline's stunt double up close. She had all the dots on her face again. Today she was just wearing the top half of the screen outfit as the rest won't be in shot obviously.

Took a few pics of Bond's hotel set. The front is finished and fits in perfectly with the landscape. The side and interior are being worked on still. I got a shot of one of the walls inside though. They are busy making his room look like one of the traditional Matera cave hotels so it'll look great inside! The view from it is spectacular too. Overlooking the famous church in the rock. Stunning scenery here.

Thanks for this info. I am still not sure the set is a hotel room. Any new shots of it? If Bond is supposed to be staying in the caves, I think they would shoot that on location or at Pinewood. I'm thinking that the set is Madeleine's office or apartment.
It is a hotel bedroom, but the interior were mainly shot at L Stage in Pinewood Studios. I guess they just redo the set a) because it can be seen when they're standing on the balcony or b) because they do a f*ing great one-take where Bond and Madeleine escape out of the hotel room over the balcony onto the street level (to reach the Aston). Just speculation, the b) part.

I got a few good shots. From the front there is now a bench on the balcony and two chairs and a small table. The interior shot I got is of a support wall type structure which has been made to appear like a sandstone-like cave look. At the top you can see it's foam though! Most likely it's for the purpose of exterior shots through the windows or balcony door. Still a number of days from being completed I'd say though.

Tonight I went to the set of the filming today. The Aston is half wrapped up but on show. And a guard is patrolling. The car next to it has a load of bullet hole marks on the bonnet. There's around 8 or 9 other vehicles there too.

Also on set is another one of those bonfires that we've seen in the city before, made up of furniture. Plus there was one of those small tuk tuk like vehicles with a load of water melons on the back! Wondering if the fruit gets fired with loads of bullets amongst the gunfire! There's two cafes in the scene so guessing there are extras sitting outside the cafes at the time. The scene takes place outside a beautiful church.

Having trouble uploading any pics but can WhatsApp or email them to people if they want.

  • Regarding comments above about lack of action, isn't there supposed to be some kind of foot chase set in Cuba filmed at Pinewood? Also remember the letters to residents about gunfire at night. There is definitely some more action there. Think TWINE, all of the action at the caviar factory for instance was shot at Pinewood around the Paddock Tank.

Maybe bond storms a Cuban embassy or lair in CR fashion to grab the scientist

    Thanks, @slyfox

My guess is that the bonfires are Easter Fires.

Since your post, I have found some more recent pics of that set. I also did some research: The cave hotels in Matera are quite eclectic and can vary in their look, from very rustic to very modern. My guess is that they're going for something along these lines (as at Hotel Sassi):

I know Indonesian and to translate that in English, he is saying "Surveying shooting location "No Time To Die"

Not sure if he is being serious or if he is just being cheeky... But Bond in Indonesia, that would be interesting....

Sure would be. I lived there when I was a kid. Interesting place.

The 2nd Unit filmed quite a lot at Kingston harbour, we just didn't know.

"After an Aston Martin car chase from 'No Time To Die' was filmed in Italy, the studio used an online copyright request to have amateur footage deleted from the social media platform, much to the annoyance of the 007 community."

Same gunshot scenes being filmed here in Matera as yesterday. They've cottoned on to people filming it on their phones and have put up some fabric netting over the fencing but you can still see it if you look closely.

Right now I'm standing next to the black Triumph motorbike that will be used for the big ramp stunt outside the Cathedral. A lot pf paramedics on standby. Hundreds of safety cardboard boxes laid out! There's a break for lunch now. Rehearsals starting in just over two hours.
