Well, I was trying to make a point regarding the design language that AM lost along the way. But one of the proofs that AM could be doing something even more special is this, which I think is stunning (see bellow). But I am not one of those who complain, as I quite like their current lineup. I love the vantage, grill and all. It's actually the superleggera which, IMO, is no very pretty, even if I do love its huge front grill. And the DB11 has those lines at the back which I love. Heck, I wouldn't say no to any of those.

    PS: Zagato rules.

Heh: I live only a couple of miles from Romans- I quite often pop to see what they have.

They had about three Zagato Vanquishes at the same time last time I went! And two were Volantes! Those are the best Zagatos in a while: often there's something a bit... challenging about them! That new one they're selling with the DB4 recreation is rather lovely too.

I've never seen that ASA before; what a pretty little thing.

I've long loved the VW SP2 though: that's just a supercool-looking thing. Not sure about their assessment of the Marcos though: there were quite a few variants of that, some very hot indeed.

Yes, it really is. And have you heard it running? Those brakes screeching make my teeth hurt. It really is just a racing machine, that one. And that's why I prefer their middle engine racing machines. Because they do have some design and heritage. This thing, the Vulcan, just looks like a modern American corvette or something. Plain ugly.

A huge flop and with good reason. The Maybach 57.

    TZhUo4n.jpg

RR & Bentley use BMW/VAG parts, of course, but their first cars under new ownership
    were distinct enough.

The Maybachs looked like spiced up S classes. Only 3000 were sold.

You can buy one if you want here: https://www.classicdriver.com/en/cars/maybach?sort=random&search_type=advanced&make=185&page=1

Me too. Always preferred the more quirky car brands to the mainstream ones. Saab is definitely one of them.

I once had the opportunity to visit their factory. It's very impressive what th built up over the years, with so many distinct cars and yet so recognisable. Pity GM came in to destroy all that.

Yeah... And the new 9-3 was ready to go... Plus, the new 9-5 combi looked so good... It never even reached dealerships... :(

Oh yes. I still don't understand why they released it in the USA with just 81bhp... :-?

I must admit, when it comes to cars I'm all about looks. How fast a car goes etc, I couldn't care less about. I also have a fascination for smaller, more compact cars with a funny or unique look. Here are a few favourites:

    1967-morris-mini-cooper-1275cc-s-saloon-panoramic-images.jpg
Morris Mini Cooper (I have a relative that owns one – don't know which year it was produced though)

    LXOJ04Gl.jpg
    Citröen DS

    s-500-11.jpg
    Fiat 500

    bmw-isetta-14.jpg
    BMW Isetta

    37109605755_881073d3d2_o.jpg
…and the Peel P.50, of course!

as for sports cars, I've always really liked the 1969 Lamborghini Miura that featured in The Italian Job:

    1969-Lamborghini-Miura-P400-S.jpg
    Love that orange colour!

Love all these, @Torgeirtrap. The DS is possibly my favourite car, closely followed by the 2CV. Adore bubble cars and the Fiat 500 too.

I see now that I forgot to add the 2CV to the list of cars above. Thanks for reminding me, @Agent_99! To make up for my mistake, here's a vintage 2CV ad!

Bonus use of the U.N.C.L.E. font there too :)

The first car I remember my dad having was a beige 2CV - it may even have been the same colour as the one in that ad. According to family legend, one day he put his key in the wrong car in the car park by mistake, and it unlocked.

We moved on to a Citroen GS which was hands down the best car we ever had. Same colour as this one:

You should visit the louwman museum in Den Haag (netherlands), they've got a temp on bubble cars...
I wish I could go, but for now that's highly improbable.
My first car was a vw golf 2. One day I parked it in a parking lot, locked it and walked away. In about 10 seconds I remembered I forgot my sunglasses, walked back, opened up the car and sat down in the driver's seat. Odd thing, not only didn't I see my sunglasses, the radio had changed too....
Same colour, same model, parked next to mine...
