Gosh they’re all absolutely cracking and pretty iconic scenes aren’t they? I was getting ready to vote for his big reveal and meeting Sylvia at the casino table but it’s not even there! :)
It’s a close one with Tatania because that’s such a cracking scene, but I’ll go with Honey on the beach too.

Ah, they’re all wonderful in their own way.

I vote for meeting Domino underwater

Bond meets Honey and explains that he's just looking and means no harm from DN

    Iconic

FRWL, for the reasons stated by others. Shows
how good the sequence is, that the Producers frequently used it to audition potential Bond actors!

Very tough choice between DN and FRWL. Both are terrific and iconic but ultimately I have to give the nod to DN if only for Sean's unforgettable rendition of 'Under The Mango Tree' ;)

Honey Rider, because it's a famous, iconic scene that has often been referenced both within as outside the series.

All the first three are very memorable. I will give it to GF, since it still has no votes.
  • This isn't quite as much of a slam dunk as I'd thought it would be. The others all have points in their favor...but nothing will ever beat Honey emerging from the sea. While DN has several points that further installments to the Bond series took and improved -- hey, practice makes perfect! -- with this one particular point, EON caught the top rung on the first time out.

Meeting Tatiana in FRWL - no wonder this scene is the go-to screen test used by EON!

I'm sort of torn among the first three...and vote for the original, Bond meeting Honey on the beach. In spite of his singing.

When you start to reflect on the series, you begin to see that the meeting of Bond and the leading lady took on less importance? Or their first scene wasn't as carefully crafted. Moore's Bond had some good ones, Dalton's were not that great. Brosnan didn't really have any ones worth mentioning other then maybe Onnatop. Craig's meeting with Vesper was a good one, but Camille and then Madeline both were meh.

Interesting, does this say something about how stories are constructed? Or did Sean's have an advantage cause they were the early films?

Nice to see every nominee has a vote and that two seem to be neck and neck!

Perhaps Sean’s films had an advantage because the screenwriters stuck more closely to Fleming’s novels?

By and large, the way that Sean meets his leading ladies was pretty much the same way that Bond met them in Fleming’s novels, I think. (DAF and DN, certainly, as I read those novels recently.)

Or the awkward meeting of Aki and Bond at the sumo wrestling match. I decided to go with 5 nominees.

All of these are part of what makes those first films so great. Like many others, I'm torn between Honey and Tatiana. Now is when I hope Vavra the gypsy will show up and offer me the proper way to determine the winner.

For the other nominees: I can only imagine sitting in a cinema in 1964 or '65 and watching Bond get shot on the laser table, waking up and seeing Honor Blackman's face and her saying "My name is Pussy Galore." I also wonder how many Avengers fans saw her and didn't know she was the leading lady.

Except for that unforgettable bathing suit, the meeting with Domino lets Bond be heroic in freeing her from the rock and piquing her interest in that way, very romantic but less outwardly sext than the choices.

Tiffany starts out promising and intriguing in her opening scenes, which makes how the script lets the character down later a bigger disappointment. That scene is more consistent with what came before in the series rather than what would follow in DAF.

Since Vavra hasn't shown up, it's time to choose: Honey's appearance is one of the great screen entrances of all time, right up there with Omar Sharif in Lawrence of Arabia or Orson Welles in The Third Man. That bikini became just as iconic and Bond himself is even taken by surprise. Before it was just him, Quarrel and possibly a dragon. "What are you doing here, looking for shells?" "No, I'm just looking" is perfect Bond dialogue. I like the singing, it's just kinda' fun. Underneath the Mango Tree must've been the number one song on the island at the time as everybody is singing or playing it.

In FRWL, it's been building up to that meeting in the suite. Another great entrance and that choker only adds to it. I think it's kind of amusing the way Bond shakes her hand, like the end of a really bad date. It took me years to realize the "just the right size, for me that is" line was a double entendre. I'm amazed they left that line in during television broadcasts. Then the way Bond is more interested in at first talking business and she won't have any of it. One of the best scenes of its type in the series.

Given the iconic status of the entrance and the bikini, I choose a taste of Honey.

This is tougher than I thought. Certainly the first three films are all very iconic within the series. Even TB and DAF are very memorable and deserving of nomination.
However, I cannot go past the iconic scene of Honey Ryder emerging from the sea, as Bond sings Underneath The Mango Tree to get her attention.

I'm rather fond of that one myself. I love the way John Barry's music dramatically swells when Bond and the audience sees her face for the very first time.

The votes have started to trickle in and the dove senses those who have a romantic bone in their bodies have voted! The Bondie for best meeting between Bond and the Leading Lady is....DN Bond meets Honey and claims to be just looking! it received a whopping 13 votes. All nominees got some love though:
    • Bond meets Tatiana in FRWL netted 5 votes
    • Bond meets Pussy Galore and thinks he's dreaming received 1 vote
    • Bond helps Domino and earns a starfish for the effort received 1 vote
    • Bond and Ms Case discuss collars and cuffs received 1 vote!

Okay on to another category. Some would call Bond getting his gadgets from Q a trope of the series! Q has delivered the equipment to Bond out in the field and also within the friendly confines of Q branch. Many look forward to the scene between the 2 characters and even Daniel's Bond still has a funny relationship with Q! So without further ado lets vote for the best Q scene in the series!
    • Bond gets the Aston Martin DB-5 from Q and discovers he never jokes about his work from GF
    • Bond meets Q at the gallery and discuss guns, radios and old ships from SF
    • Bond is sorry about the leg and Q leaves Freddy on the wall from GE
    • Bond meets R and learns the 2 things that Q has taught double-o-7 from TWINE
    • Write in a nominee welcome!

I had trouble picking a fifth nominee so I shall let the academy write in a nominee! There are so many great scenes to choose from. Lets show our faithful Q some love and award a Bondie to the best Q scene from the series!

I'm gonna go with TWINE for this one, as Bond's interacting with Q here is so poignant, considering its his last scene in the franchise. No other Q interaction left one with such feels, even if other interactions may be more iconic.
