I must say I'm very pleased with Wright's return. He's by far my favourite Leiter to date. I'm really intrigued about those Waltz and Jones cameos, though. Have they been confirmed?

No confirmation at all. But regarding Waltz I'm pretty confident he will make an appearance. The guy who reported Waltz involvement is the same reporter who broke the news about Burns polishing the script, so there might be some truth in it...

Interesting. Tying up loose ends then, aren't they?

What about George Lazenby's comment about a cameo?
Any truth to it do we think, or just misinformation regarding the press release yesterday?
I wouldn't be adverse to it, if it was tasteful and not made too obvious. Maybe a passer by being amazed at Bonds antics during an action scene.
Or in the style of the, 'he's keen to get home' guy from SF.

After losing at a card game to Bond with a very unlucky hand:
“This never happened to the other fellow.”

    That would work perfectly. :))

Does anyone actually believe those cameos?

Because Grace will make more than just a cameo.

    She'll be the new M.

Not sure about that. Ralph is doing just fine.

    Yes ;-)

    Great actor anyhow.

I would be all for a Lazenby cameo. Life is too short, the best time would have been for the 50th to get some original cameos in. Considering the time it takes to make a Bond film now, no time like the present! :)

    Grace Jones as Irma Bunt

George Lazenby as the motorcycle policeman driving up to Bond s car after it is riddled with bullets.

Waltz I'd understand why he would do a cameo. Grace Jones I have no idea why or how it would work.

It looks like a little bit of storyboard work has already leaked. ;-)

George Lazenby is super active on Instagram liked a bunch of my stuff! How cool is that guys??

Couple of potential HUGE spoilers that I have seen floating around Instagram.

    1) Someone claims Bond will have a mixed baby with Nomi the female black MI6 agent. Hopefully that’s not true.

    2) Blofeld returning in a cameo? Either the PTS or the ending.

    3) Madeline doesn’t die. Either she just leaves Bond or is kidnapped?

I think Lazenby was just joking around, to be honest.

The Waltz cameo/small part could very well be true, but it's probably something EON wants to keep as a surprise and will not be confirmed.
Unless they have trouble promoting the film, they won't sneak him into the trailer or anything.

And for the rest of the rumours I have a useful four-letter word, and they're full of it.

Sassi Live reported that Bond would have a baby with Nomi so I think that is where that rumour started. They have not been accurate with the Bond Girls (Charlize Theron, Priyanka Chopra) and they reported that the press conference would be at Pinewood. They were right about Matera being a location but the other stuff they have revealed has been hit and miss (mainly miss!).

Come off it. He starts the film shacked up with Maddy and ends it with a kid with someone else. All in one movie? Total garbage.

Exactly! Sassi Live are not to be trusted! I re-read the article - it said Bond would have either a Asian or Black baby.....

Personally I doubt it - Bond having any baby with anyone that is. I could see Waltz having a cameo appearance, but whether he’s in the film at all or not, it seems unlikely to me he’ll have a major role. Maybe a scene with Bond interrogating him in jail about the new villain? I think villain-wise they’re looking for something pretty new with Malek. Whether or not he’s related to SPECTRE I have no clue. Maybe he was next in line to take control after Blofeld went down. But personally I’d rather see a more independent villain a la Zorin or Goldfinger.

I love the hook of the story with Bond chilling in Jamaica until Felix comes for him, and they embark on a mission together to find a kidnapped scientist. No idea what they’ll do with Madeleine’s character, but hopefully something original and intriguing. The other women are a mystery too. I’m hopeful the film can stand on its own very well and not be too direct of a Spectre sequel. I think it can.

Also note it's a reversal for Bond seeking out Mathis. A big deal for him to help Felix this way.

I didn't think of that. Cool logic mate, it'll be interesting to see if Bond notices the parallels

I think Ana De Armas’s Instagram feed will reveal numerous Bond 25 secrets. Within the last hour she revealed this photo. Which indicates she is still in Jamaica and will likely be filming there (perhaps even tomorrow?)

Also MGW said in this interview that Bond owns a yacht now. So set photos are guaranteed!

Well, yes, he has his yacht since 2006. At least I hope it's the same one. The Spirit 54. Still beautiful.

The photo above is almost certainly taken at the Trident Hotel.

This hotel is in the Port Antonio area on the north east coast of Jamaica. In my opinion the most beautiful and least spoilt corner of the island. I'm hoping this means they're using this area for location shoots. There are some amazing beaches and lush rainforest backdrops around there. Also the Blue Lagoon is nearby - where they shot the soft porn movie of the same name.

Possible locations they might be using nearby are this insane house directly next to the Trident Hotel - used as a wedding venue but would make a brilliant villain's hangout.

Also San San beach, Frenchmans Cove (a well known hangout of the jet set in the 50s) are nearby.

The town of Port Antonio also has lots of charm. Errol Flynn used to have a hotel there and the Flynn family still maintain close links to the area. Flynn's wife lived in the area until she died just a few years ago.

There are some beautiful falls and rivers nearby too. Lots of possible locations.

Is it confirmed where exactly in Jamaica they're going to be filming?
  • edited April 2019 Posts: 11,425
Well they're staying in Port Antonio which suggests they are filming nearby in my opinion. Trident Hotel is a good 2 hr drive from Goldeneye at least. I can't see why they'd be staying in Port Antonio if they weren't using locations there. It's not an area most tourists go to - it's the part of the Island the locals like to keep as a bit of a secret. It's also home to the Gee Jams studios and hotel where several top artists have recently recorded. Expect the cast to be hanging out there.

I find this encouraging. It means they've done their homework and centred in on the most unspoilt part of the island. And they're not just reusing locations from Dr No and LALD.

The Gleaner (Jamaica's national paper) reported that there would be filming in the "corporate area" which I assume means Kingston. That doesn't narrow things down much as Kingston is a city of a million people and is surrounded by mountains, a huge harbour and has a mix of abject urban poverty and luxury.
