Which Bond film is the most intellectually and/or emotionally engaging?

The book was more engaging than the film was, though.

In the film, you knew there wasn't much of danger for Bond... But, the book definitely was suspenseful that made you doubt whether Bond was going to survive or whatever the hell SMERSH was going to break loose... We know what happens in the end.

    License to kill for me.
The whole wedding scenes and how Bond and Felix are best friends is sad considering his wife gets killed and he is almost eaten to death by a shark.
