Neither have I actually, but I do know that the two were together. Also, during the Moore era I'm pretty sure The Persuaders would still have been in fairly recent memory.

I don't know if it's true but I read somewhere the two actors didn't get along. As for the series itself I always enjoyed it tremendously.

Particularly the first three, Loren and Hepburn. Actually, Grace Kelly fits perfectly too.

I don't think Elke Sommer fits the term classic like the others you mentioned. She had a couple flashy bits and then mostly did the game show circuit and commercials. At least that's how I remember her.
  • After seeing Don't Look Now (a Christmas prez) for the first time, I'd nominate Julie Christie in place of Barbara Bach for XXX. She would have turned a good Bond film into an indisputable classic

Now that is inspired. He showed us in ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST how dark he can go as a villain.

Fonda with those ice cold blue eyes is an inspired choice. "I could squash you like a wormy apple". That is a great line.

I love this idea! Here's some I've come up with. I'll probably edit this later and add to it.

Brad Whitaker: Lee Van Cleef or Jack Palance.

    Hugo Drax: Vincent Price

    Blofeld (OHMSS): Orson Welles

    Mr. B.I.G: James Earl Jones

This is posted last year at an alternate history forum regarding 007, under my pen-name kagemusha80.

    James Cagney as Jack Sprang

    James Raft as Seraffimo Sprang

    Bud Abbot as Sluggsy Morant

    Lou Costello as Sol Horrowitz

    Caesar Romero as Mr. Sanguinetti

Wolfgang Preiss as Colonel von Hammerstein

Maria Gian Volonte as Major Hector Gonzales

Tatsuya Nakadai as Kono (Blofeld's top mook in the YOLT novel)

and another one I thought of...

Lee Van Cleef as Francisco Scaramanga (Think about it, he's got the mustache, and I do remember that Scaramanga DID have an American accent.)
