I do hope so........every time i watch it i do feel there was a good film just trying to come out, but the bits left on the cutting room floor by Marc Foster and the shaky cam action filming just get too much in the way....

LeChiffre said:Anyone heard anything about a possible release as I,m sure it would improve the version we've all seen ie a better resolution with White/Haines etc. Sorry for going over old ground but I,m dying to get my hands on it! On a secondary note, I wouldn't mind a special edition of NSNA with commentary etc. I,m sure that was released in the States several years ago but not as yet in Blighty.
There hardly is any shaky cam use in QOS. The cutting is, opposite to for example the 2nd Bourne film in a way that it is possible to see very good what happens on screen.darrenr said:I'm sure it was said once (though of course they are entitled to change their mind!) that QoS would be re-released as a "directors cut" dvd, with longer editing, more complete scenes etc, prior to Bond23 coming out.

There is a US special edition of NSNA with audio commentary by director Irvin Kershner and some interviews, I think with Kershner and with the writers. Why don´t you just get that and install a region-free player on yout laptop?LeChiffre said:On a secondary note, I wouldn't mind a special edition of NSNA with commentary etc. I,m sure that was released in the States several years ago but not as yet in Blighty.

If it is, it will likely just be the blu-ray in the pack of 22.
Well, in the example you provided there is almost no shaky shot.Zekidk said:

Good for you, that you didn't have any problems "to see very good what happens on screen." Like so many others, who have argued likewise, I couldn't though. And "hardly any shaky cam" in QoS? How do you define "hardly"? Like this?
MrBond said:This is the only footage from that scene. And from the QoS we can see how the end could have been.

It´s cut at lightspeed intervalls, but in 98% of the shots the action is clearly visible.
boldfinger said:I´m glad that wasn´t in the film. It would have been an absolute clicheed soap opera ending.

Longer editing would completely change the whole rhythm of the film. I´m absolutely sure that Forster or anyone at Eon is not interested in such a thing. There were announcements of some superduper edition for the future, but I doubt anyone had in mind to re-cut the film for that purpose.
