I must say the most horrible group of Bond fans are the Brosnan bashers and the Craig lovers, because if you happen to disagree with their opinions on these 2 actors, they start insulting you. You can love and bash Connery, Lazenby, Moore and Dalton all you want... but if you are a Brosnan fan and you can't stand Craig, you are treated as a complete moron by the Craig lovers and Brosnan bashers.

All opinions are allowed on this site... all but 2 : loving Brosnan and hating Craig. I would like an explanation why these 2 opinions aren't allowed on this site, and why you are treated like shit if you agree with these 2 opinions.

Debating about Craig and Brosnan is impossible on this site. Whenever you talk about Brosnan, inevitably a member will post that Brosnan was a shit Bond... And whenever you talk about Craig and someone posts a negative opinion on him, he is insulted and ridiculed by the Craig fanboy army.

I've been saying this for a while. I like craig myself, but I don't like it when I see people getting attacked for not liking him, while bashing brosnan (who I thought was a better bond anyway), seems to be ok. People need to stop bashing brosnan, because some of us like his bond and even *sarcastic gasp* prefer him to craig.

Agreed, but personally I like a heated debate once in a while. IMO it only gets difficult, if people feel personally offended, start vicious personal attacks and give the victim. They might need to remember, we are talking Bond and not world peace. If it stops being fun, something is wrong.

Funny how people always believe someone is 'trolling' when they don't agree with his opinions. Has it crossed your mind at all that it is possible for someone to hate CR and Craig ? Or does that never happen in your perfect Craig kingdom ?

I actually meant the DAF, DAD, MR, YOLT being among your favourites when they're pretty universally disliked, not the Craig bit. My best friend hates Craig and it doesn't bother me.

Why would anyone bash Brosnan at all? I mean, even looking at it subjectively, he was great. Some things could be better, yes, but as a whole he was good and so were his movies. I like Craig too, but he isn´t as Bondian to me as Brosnan was, neither in looks or how he acts.

I don't like Brosnan because he is a playboy in a tuxedo, not a assassin (like Dalton) or a gentleman (like Moore). He brings nothing to the character. In fact, he isn't James Bond at all. Dalton and Craig, in their turn, are good actors. Whereas Brosnan's "performance" in TWINE is just laughable. He tries too hard to act and fails by a considerable margin. In my eyes, he is a model, just like George Lazenby. Not an actor.

I do not like TMWTGG - I want to, and maybe there are a couple of good scenes but I find it disappointing every time
I love GE, TSWLM, and FYEO
Connery set the standard and feel of Bond for sure; but please note a person can definitely like very much Brosnan, Craig, Moore and Dalton - I am sure I am not the only one out here who likes all of them.
Lazenby, well not really. I still do not much like OHMSS; mostly I like the ]Swiss cabin scene; that was lovely.
I like Jaws in TSWLM a lot but agree he is just too goofy and his effect is thoroughly ruined and unenjoyable in MR
I still do not like much about MR; I need to watch it again.
I do like Bassey because it fits the style of the films so well, but I also love Carly's Nobody does it Better
Halle and Madonna really did not belong in DAD; but Pierce (especially first half of the film, through the sword fight and start of Cuba) was quite good.

Yes, we can all vary in our opinions of course. I just want to say I like Pierce in every film he did, including TWINE. His acting was fine, imo.

I think the added drama in TWINE was a mistake, they should have aimed at doing another TND or DAD instead. Pierce´s acting I think is ok in TWINE, but when he tries to look angry (Renard: "How does it feel, that i broke her in for you"), it´s not convincing acting. Drama doesn´t belong in a Bond movie. That´s one of the reasons I don´t like CR very much.

You're right, 007RogerMoore. It's a matter of different opinions. But I would not say opinions are a subjetively thing. I'm reading this forum and Pierre Bourdieu always comes to my mind. I wish I could know who are the persons that are writing these controversial opinions :) Which one's origin and preferences in terms of art, music, film direction. Maybe it's because I have a social sciences formation HAHA. It's funny to see how different opinions are here and this is a nice thing. It's enrichable.

That´s the highlight of being here: I prefer the campy movies and get in a debate with Craig and Dalton fans, among others. But even if my opinions are different than most people here, I still try to keep a nice atmosphere. You won´t see me bash Craig or anything (but he doesn´t deserve it anyway).
CR might get it´s share of criticism from me, though. I´m sorry, but I have a personal problem with it.

Bond isn't an assassin, thats a misconception, he's a spy first who SOMETIMES has to kill people as part of his job. Grant, by contrast, was an assassin. His job was specifically to stake out a target and kill them - nothing more.

As someone who grew up with Brosnan I will always defend him. Granted he wasn't a great actor and sometimes looked a bit lightweight but he had his moments. While Dalton was the better 007 he didn't move as well imo. He (arguably) wasn't as seductive or as "screen friendly" and thats perhaps why he never quite took off.

In TND for instance theres a scene where Bond locks up his car and walks to the hotel looking over his shoulder. THAT is James Bond. Confident, sophisticated but professional and aware of his surroundings. Brosnan could almost glide through the scenery and make it look cool. I'm not sure Dalton could.

As for TWINE its a mixed bag. Melodramatic at times but effective at others:

("get lost...no no no down the back")
("No, after you. I insist")
("I never miss")
("I usually hate killing an unarmed man. Cold blooded murder is a filfthy business")

Watch Haphazard's review. He thinks TWINE is Brosnan's best performance BUT admits he was bad in that "there's no point in LIVING" scene.

Personally I'd say Brozza's best performance is TND.

I'd say he brings his boyish charm and flippant sense of humour.

I gotta say that TWINE has several good parts, but as a whole it´s boring compared to DAD or TMWTGG. Some of the actionscenes are really good (the one in the submarine is not) and the casino scene is great also. I really like the Q-scene, they are always one of the highlights of every movie. It´s a pity CR has no ;)(just another attempt at lowering it´s status, as I say, it´s pretty good but for me it´s "the black sheep of the family"). I also like Denise Richards. She´s not acting well but she´s fun to watch. She is super hot in the submarine when Bond is fighting Renard.

How about this: FRWL, while being a pretty good enjoyable movie, is a snorfest compared to the rest of the series.

Sean Connery and his movies are overrated (the 4 first, I mean), possibly because he was the first. (I still rank him at third place on my Bond list. In other words, he´s good, but not as good as most seem to think).

Connery isn´t bored in YOLT, but in TB.

I'd say TB was one of his best performances. Think of it this way. Your in the Bahamas surrounded by sun sea and half naked women. Chances are, even if ur tiring of the role ur playing, ur going to enjoy yourself.

He did well apart from sometimes when he talks. Others who have watched TB with me also commented on the fact the he sometimes speaks in a wooden manner. I think he was better in atleast DN, GF, DAF and NSNA.

Connery was the definitive Bond. But I don't like his public persona at ALL. I don't like his comments about hitting women. And I think he is/was a whiny baby about Bond. Boo hoo, you were rich and famous and swarmed by fans wherever you went. He should have hired bodyguards and stopped complaining.

Connery is my hero, so the fan boy in me says I should disagree. But the logical side says you're right. Bond made him famous, Bond gave him the opportunity to be a successful actor. He got what he wanted but he still seemed to resent it.

Still, I love Connery. First born son will be named Sean.

I say Halle Berry was actually, not ugly, but merely unappealing in Die Another Day, one of the least looking Bond girls of the series, as well as damn annoying with it. The 'coming out of the sea' homage was an insult to the Urusla Andress original too, they embarrassed themselves with that, 40th anniversary or not

The tanker chase at the close of License To Kill is uninteresting, dull and goes on far too long, nothing interesting really happens before Sanchez goes up in flames

Julian Glover was the wrong cast in For Your Eyes Only, what a most boring and dull person/character. Aris Kristatos is surely up there in the Top 3 of most dull and banal James Bond adversaries

You Only Live Twice should of expanded on being set entirely on location in one country. Bond spends the whole duration in Japan and maybe at least one other country location may have been beneficial to the viewer

Maurice Binders title designs were not up to much sometimes. I actually don't like half of them. The Spy who loved me and Moonraker being amongst the worst of his work

The Jump off the Contra Dam in Switzerland for Goldeneye is overrated

Izabella Scorupco is not the 'babe' that some make out, Yes she's a nice looking woman in that film but not the centerfold model that some are under the impression, I fail to see the attraction myself

The ending of A View to a Kill should of taken place in Paris, would of been much more interesting (and plausible) having an Eiffel Tower finale instead of the overblown nonsense on the Golden Gate Bridge

These are controversial! I think Glover is perfect in FYEO, as is Topol. It's one of the better cast Moore films.

Of course I agree about Berry and the Andress ripoff, in slo-mo no less. Ugh, that entire scene--including the dumbass "bird" dialogue--needs to be cut from the movie.

Binder did have weak credit sequences (TLD and LTK come to mind), but I love TSWLM. How can you not like the acrobatic women on the guns?

All of AVTAK needed to be scrapped.

The Halle coming out of the water scene was a deliberate homage to Ursula because DAD was another anniversary film. I can only hope there are good homages in Skyfall, not ones that make us groan (in the wrong way).

Here are Some Contriversial opinions:

1) Pierce Brosnan was The Colin Baker of James Bonds- underrated, underloved, stuck with bad storylines (DAD)

2) Qantumn of Solace is indeed the worst bond film of all time- so bad that it is up there with Jersey Shore and Twilight of all things that should be set on fire and erased from Time

3) Daniel Craig is the most overrated James Bond- he doesnt look like James Bond, his acting isnt strong, can only display anger and he only did 1 good bond film like George Lazenby he should have only did 1 film and moved on

4) Jinx, Mayday and Rosie from LALD are terrible bond girls- only Naomi Harris can break the curse

5) Michael G Wilson should write another bond script

6) Never Say Never Agian, A View to A Kill and Die Another Day were good bond films

7) The Reboot Idea is the worst decision EON made, they could have continued on from Die Another Day, Explained why Q and Moneypenny left and M Stayed instead of sending 40 years of Continuity down the toilet

8) Everything or Nothing should have been made into a Film

She's a babe. End of! She has the sexiest of moles on her cheek and the loviest of smiles. Plus she actually has a bit of...character.

As for her voice. I've never had a single issue with it.

Hands down the best Bond girl during his era. I'm going to be controversial here but, out of the two leads in Martin Campbell's films, I've always preferred her. She just has a bit more of a...girl next door quality.
