That was the most out-of-character thing I've ever seen Bond do, making him sound like a sniveling romantic. Completely destroyed the character. :-w

So we can forgive the rest of the film because that song is too good!

QOS- the opera scene in which the editing is so bad that it makes the direction of Joe Shumucker's Batman and Robin look like a masterpiece. in fact count the whole movie as an abysmal faliure

In the same film there was some excellent syncronised surfing at the start of the film, forgotten for ever thanks to the CGI parasurfing debacle.

But you have to ask yourself, why in the name of all things sacred, would a group of 00's be SURFING into a mission? I mean, WTF?! Is that a mode of transport favoured by the world's special forces?

I have actually seen slight overweight guys pushing 50, taking on huge waves, so it isn't that far out as say Moore escaping an exploding spacestation?
Agent007391 said:No. It exists to fulfill Lee Tamahori's love for surfing. Surfing is actually one of the stupidest ways to infiltrate one of the world's hotspots, as the enemy could easily see you on top of that huge wave.

Would it be believable if Moore's Bond had surfed such a wave in AVTAK ?

so, if they jumped from a plane - the only explanation is that they swam a very long time, before finally surfing onto the beach.... Bond's body (especially in Brosnan's shape).. probably would've given out. lol.

The story boards for the DAD PTS have the three 00's using those little underwater things that were used in the underwater battle in TB. There was to be a handful of Moon's men waiting out in the bay to surf ashore. The three 00'S were to use those motorised things to get to Moon's men, surface, incapacitate them, steal their surfboards and surf ashore.

Let me rephrase : would you accept Moore's Bond doing a similar surfing scene in AVTAK ? Or doing parkour stunts in OP ?

Absolutely! If done (edited) right.
NicNac said:There are bound to be dire moments in a series that has lasted 50 years, but the opening gambit said it all. When Bond parasurfed over the waves I literally squirmed and looked around the cinema as if I actually felt a little responsible for this (being a Bond fan). I may have even muttered a few 'sorries' to the people in the next seats, and promised it wouldn't happen again if they were good enough to part with their money for the next Bond film.
