New Actress cast for Tomb Raider Reboot movie!!

    Graham King, President of GK Films, the same company that released such hits as last year's The Tourist and the current animated blockbuster Rango, has confirmed yesterday that a new actress has been cast in the role of Lara Croft in the upcoming movie reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise.

    "We wanted a young, vibrant actress for the role," said King, "that's why we chose Vanessa Hudgens for the title role.

    She comes to us with an impressive filmography resume which include the current action blockbuster Sucker Punch and the popular High School Musical trilogy"

    "I remember playing Tomb Raider when I was a little girl, "says Vanessa at the press conference announcement, "and I remember being fascinated by the way Lara carried herself in the game.

    She is the pure embodiment how a woman should be: strong, assertive, independent, tough - ready to take on any and all challenges thrown her way!!"

    When reminded how she will have big shoes to fill after Angelina Jolie made the celluloid Lara Croft internationally famous, Hudgens said:

    "I am honored to follow in the footsteps of Angelina and I will do her and Lara Croft proud and the millions of worldwide fans. It will be great! It will be fun! It will be fantastic!"

    Coincidentally, Vanessa and her fellow Sucker Punch cast members had to undergo 12 weeks of intensive training for their roles:

    weight training, combat training and extensive live weapons training by a former Navy SEAL - all the skills that Lara Croft needs to survive in her element!!

    The new Tomb Raider Reboot movie is scheduled for release in 2013.

    Well I glad they are reboot the Franchise. I got nothing against Angelina Jolie but they should better then her for the role. We remembered Daniel Craig starred in the first one. Angelina Jolie did only star with Daniel Craig she also starred Sean Connery in Movie & recently with Timothy Dalton in Tourist. I think very shortly with Pierce Brosnan soon.

    Who ever posted this article I gatta tell you something important. I told everyone on tomb raider websites that this Disney star will be the next Lara Croft. Many people aren't happy with it. Vannesa hudgens will never be similar to Lara Croft. If you can contact the GK films tell them to pick a different actress that is use to doing action films. By the ways she is too dark skinned and doesn't look like a British person at all.

    I'd like to see another TR movie, but done properly this time. Start by casting a relative unknown british actress for Lara. With the new game coming out in 2013, that might generate interest in another film.

Producers who produce ''Rango'' earlier for GK.

    Vanessa Hudgens not my choose. Disney not be my first choose, whyle i have consider to sugest the editor of National Treasure and i sugest the Cinematographer of the POTc movies, but National Treasure 2 disapointed so much.

    They should just continue the timeline of the Jolie movies i think? I mean? A reboot after 2 movies?!!!! Surely a new adventure will be just fine instead of a reboot?

    It's been too long and the last one didn't exactly set the whole on fire. There were plans for another film to be released in 2013, but so far not much news apart from who is writing it.
