let's see if we can put together some great playlists that will cover most musical genres, and please most people here !!

old music, new music, hip-hop, rock, pop, dance, electro, dubstep, indie, funk, folk... I hope there will be something for everyone here !!

I think it would be good if we don't just post youtube links... let's try to add a little review to our posts so they won't be considered as 'spam' :)

My favorite musical entertainer/singer/what-have-you is Frank Sinatra. Everything the man did was brilliant, and that voice is unforgettable. I am saddened that I can never get to see him in concert.

That was the Official theme for Wrestlemania X7 at the Astrodome in Houston, one of the best PPV events I ever saw, even Motorhead were present and played live, it was a great event

@TopGearJB007: Excellent choices with Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, The Eagles, and Electric Light Orchestra! Favorites of mine as well, though not all of them are in my top 10 (Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, and Van Halen are).

Phil Collins and Elvis Presley are true legends! Two of the greatest voices I've ever heard in my entire life. I will always remember Collins' songs in the Disney movie Tarzan- even then I was completely blown away by his voice.

Neither am I; modern music stinks, and there's nothing new that is worth listening to. I'm extremely diappointed in the kids today who actually enjoy cruddy artists with trashy and inappropriate songs like Lil' Wayne, Kesha, Katey Perry, Usher, LMFAO, and the like.

Exactly. Listen to "Changes" by Tupac. That is the greatest rap song I have ever heard. He was such a brilliant artist to the point where he wasn't a rapper, but a poet. His songs carry more emotional meaning than stupid songs about pimping women and cars like we see today. He would always record three songs in the studio in case he would die, and always knew he'd die young. A tragic and provocative figure.

My favorite musician of all times: the one and only, the man in black:
Johnny Cash!
All his music is great, from the early rockabilly, his concept albums, his collaborations like Highwaymen, and the last glorious chapter of his brillant carrier: the American Recordings.
IHis voice is so great, the music so wide and the sound very unique.
My recommendations: Big River, Folsom Prison Blues, Get Rhythm, Cocaine Blues, Wanted Man, Orange Blossom Special, The Vanishing Race, Highway Patrolman, Sunday Morning Coming Down, Highwayman, Solitary Man, One, Hurt, The Man Comes Around, Redemption Day... and many many more.

Just a brief list here. My favorite music far and away is rock, mostly 1970's and 1980's heavy metal, faves from the era are too numerous to list but on top are Queensryche and Savatage (remnants are involved in TSO and personal friends of mine for many years). New music, right now Halestorm and Alter Bridge are getting a lot of play. Lzzy and Arejay Hale are awesomely talented, as is the entire AB.

I also like different things. Rap, only thing I ever really cared for was NWA and Kid Rock, mostly I hate this and virtually any kind of club music. Just not my cup of tea. Same for grunge (despise Nirvana but do like Soundgarden and AIC). However, you can sometimes hear varied movie soundtracks, classical (mostly Mozart and Grieg), smooth jazz (Anita Baker, Sade) stuff playing in my car or at home, usually depends on the day and my mood.

Not a big country fan either but some of it is listenable. However, if the singer has a "twang" or that god awful pedal steel guitar is playing, it's hillbilly music to me and I'll change the station.

How can anyone despise Nirvana ?!

They were short lived, and if not for the death of Cobain would of continued with some standout tracks, I've yet to see anyone who genuinely disliked them, but ok if you insist. Soundgarden though are a good band for sure, Black Hole Sun being one of my favorites, coming about the same time as Nirvana disbanded

Because I thought Cobain was a genuinely very average guitarist and vocalist, and his songs highly overrated, that's why. The music biz is to blame for that, they just wanted to get rid of metal despite the fact that it was still selling plenty of records. The day all those ass wipes got fired was almost as good as the day Cobain showed the world he really did have a gun. Shame he didn't shoot Courtney first. Dave Grohl was the real talent in that bunch, FooFighters are a gazillion times better. Just my opinion.

That's an impressively diverse list, forgotmyusername. I recall a friend of mine who worked in a music store once told me that true music buffs (as opposed to fans) will respect any song from any time period or style as long as it is well made. Kudos for not sticking to one genre!

Belgium deliever the last couple of years great songs. more Belgium: Milow with Ayo Technology. Belgium Duffy:: Selah Sue. Or Triggerfinger who have a number 1 hit with I Follow Rivers.
