NFL is back. I was quite happy to see the Chiefs take care of business tonight against the Patriots. Yes, I hate the Patriots.

The Patriots have certainly found a way to soil any victory they get through their past behavior and unsportsmanlike conduct on all levels.

I'm not a big sports guy but there are few pleasures that make me beam brighter in the soul than seeing Tom Brady shout from the bench as he watches his team choke in a game. He's made a mockery of my first name too (I don't care if it's his surname), so I've got a lot wrapped up in this!

Here's to the 2017/2018 NFL season and the hopes that literally anyone but the Patriots wins it all at the end.

Hoping for a positive start for my Seahawks! However first up is the Packers, so it's going to be a tough one!

Losing the first game of the season has never stopped the Pats from winning SuperBowls.
    Belichick will figure this out.

And all this time, I thought your screen name was a reference to Tom Brady! LOL

    Ironic, but not untrue.

I don't really care for the NFL/American football one way or another, but you can bet your ass I'm rooting for ANY team that's against the Patriots year after year. Hopefully anyone but them goes to/wins the Super Bowl this season.

Glad to see many of our members here are also sick of the Patriots. It never ends with sports analysts always talking about the Patriots and how incredible they are 24/7. At least the ridiculous 16/19-0 talk is over.

@FoxRox, it's not really in my nature to care so much about a sport (or any sport) that really isn't important to me, but when a team with such a cheating and overall shady history becomes the biggest ring winners, there's always an aching suspicion with it all.

Whenever the Patriots win, it's hard to tell if they won fair or because they had a secret advantage some way or another, and that's never good in a sports event of any kind. If one can't trust competitors, it rather soils the whole experience. Baseball has seen a massive storm of revelations over time regarding past greats and their steroid use, and other widespread cheating has become apparent in other fields too, including cycling. Quite sad.

Oh please. I can understand not liking a team, because they win so much.

I don't cheer for the Yankees for the same reason, but cheating? Really?
Deflategate? Really? Seriously. Cry me a river.
That was nothing more than big-shot screw-up Goodell, yet again trying and failing, to win a "tool" measuring contest.
Yet another setback today for Goodell in the Ezekiel Elliott ruling.
Guy can't do anything right, from Ray Rice, to Deflategate to Elliott......

Meantime, heck of a nice debut by the Chiefs new running back. Very all purpose!
Chiefs were good last year. Could be really good this year!

@timmer, wasn't really even talking about Deflategate, though that can be thrown in. I was more talking about the on record activities of the Patriots and how they'd steal other team's playbooks through a variety of means to get an edge on their game plans.

People don't despise them for no reason, after all. If you don't respect the game enough to play it honestly and fairly, you shouldn't be playing it (or coaching it in either case) at all. I feel bad for the great players they have, who are followed around by the stink of the teams' past actions on and off the field.

Even if the Patriots had never cheated, their fanbase is largely insufferably arrogant, and Brady is a terrible sport when things don't go his way.

    Ouch, that one hurt. ;)

(This is a problem I have in everyday life, whenever people casually talk football around me)

I agree, I don't hate the team so much. However their fans will never let you hear enough about how Brady is the best ever yadda yadda. 28-3 yadda yadda. We get it, Brady is the best ever STFU and enjoy your 5 rings

Many people, myself included dislike teams like the Patriots, mostly due to the bandwagon fans. This happens in every sport. Many Patriots fans probably couldn't tell you who the quarter back was before 2001.

I know at the moment Tom is enemy number 1 (apparently), but was loved when he was at the top. Fickle minds.

I've noticed a lot more bandwagon Denver, New England, and Seattle fans than Baltimore fans - saying this because they are the most recent Super Bowl winners. Pretty glad honestly; the less bandwagoners of my teams, the better. Generally speaking, of course, if someone is going to bandwagon to the AFC North, it will be the Steelers.

As a Bears fan naturally I hate the Packers. Not as much as the Steelers or Patriots but third most. Just one of those pesky teams that never goes away.
