    I would be very interested in seeing a Nolan or Fincher Bond film, just for the fun of it. I'm not sure they'd make a 'standard' Bond so with an almost scientific curiosity, I'd love to see what they do with it.

    @DC, how about if, regardless of EON's programming, they were allowed to bring their own Bond film to the small screen? Hypothetically speaking, what if they could take the Bond legacy and run away with it any way they prefer? Wouldn’t you be curious to see what they do with it? After all, I think we can have a little bit faith in these two. It’s not like we’re talking Roger Coreman or Gavin Hood. ;;)

    Sure Dimi, but EON would have to give him a huge amount of space for them to accept directing a Bond film. Nothing like EON's ever done, and we've ever seen.

    Honestly, I'd love to see what Nolan could do with a Bond film. He would obviously have to play it far more straight-forward than Inception, but the directing style would likely be a good match.

    He's not allowed to bring Hans Zimmer along for the soundtrack, though.

    Oh, and about Fassbender... I've been thinking he might be a good successor to Craig since I saw him in Basterds.

    Bond in a Bond in a Bond in Bond dreaming to be a Bond. Well atleast the scenes with Bond and the girl (there is always a girl) will become better.remember inception? go deeper? :)

    @j7wild No. This thread is entirely a fun thread from some of us here who enjoyed Fassbender´s classic Hollywood mug, especially in connection with appearances that as some say remind of James Bond, e.g. his appearance in Inglorious Bastards, or the 60s-Bond-inspired elements in First Class.
    I think his reaction in that interview above, thanks by the way @Adrian, shows that he has a grip on the situation, he realises he could at least fit the looks of James Bond, but he´s also aware that Daniel Craig has the role for the time being, and he doesn´t seem to have any problem with the situation.

    Yep we're all harking back for SC 60's cool.

    I wonder if they should have rebooted Bond just FRWL - a period Bond, would have been interesting and given them about 35 years worth of history to play with.

    Assbender or Superman would have been ideal for this treatment. And the more I see DC, the more I feel as if we're being cheated out of a great Bond performance from DC.

    They won't let him be free to play Bond and I'm gettin' bleedin' frustrated about the whole thing. So much so I'm going to go out find a furniture shop, burn it down, smash some windows, harass some old people, glare at the police in an evil manner and knick some Nike trainers.

    Fassbender grows on me, and whilst I'm not one hundred percent ruling him out, I have to say his mouth is too big.
    It's something I could overlook, but I would like to see what other options we have first.

    I would love to have Fassbender as Bond. In the 'X-Men: First Class' bar scene, just felt like a rip from the 60's Bond films.

    I doubt that QOS really had the intention of delivering a 60s Bond feel.


    I notice the same difference between McAvoy and Fassbender in that interview clip that was also visible in 1st Class. Fassbender´s got the face, but McAvoy is so much more settled when he speaks. If Fassbender would play Bond now I had a fear that he would overact, not as much perhaps as Brosnan sometimes did, but still too much, especially after Craig.

    I never get anything I want, though :-(

    Seriously, though, X-Men First Class solidified it for me. He was easily the best thing about that film, and I would have preferred a movie about his character exclusively, tbh.

    I think Fassbender as Bond could potentially be the best thing to happen to the Bond franchise this century, and this is from someone who likes Craig.

    I agree. The entirety of the film just involved me thinking of him as Bond. What solidified it for me, personally, was that bar scene.

    i agree that Fassbender should be Bond i mean Daniel Craig is SO overrated mainly as his only peformance as Bond was in Casino Royale (and from Qantum of Solace to the video games Goldeneye and Blood Stone were all "Bourne" and he just registered as nothing more than a violent charmless thug- ) hell even Timothy Dalton's Bond has more charm than Craig and likeability

    Fincher would be interesting, Nolan a nightmare...having trouble trying to imagine Boyle for some reason.

    No thanks to Cavill...he doesn't look the part at all. Fassbender would indeed be awesome, especially if Vaughn directed...but I'm personally in no rush to see Craig out of the role at this point.

    Looks can be deceiving. Craig didn´t look the part when he was considered, yet through his acting he made the role very much his own.
    If I´m honest I doubt Fassbender has that level of acting. Perhaps he will in the future, but right now I don´t see it anywhere.
    I haven´t seen Cavill at all, so I can´t comment on his acting.

    For me it's more about presence...Craig sold me not on his acting but on the sheer masculine presence he brought to the role...something not seen in the franchise since Connery and Lazenby. Similarly Dalton had acting talent but could never quite convince in the role because he just didn't have "it" (imho). I think Fassbender could pull it off nicely based on his performance in First Class.

    Craig has been the only Bond that I've truly been able to sit back and think 'Well what has he been in?' when he was cast as Bond, as I was only four when GE was released. Having said that, I can't really question if Connery, Moore, Dalton, or Lazenby (who I believe was a model and had no acting experience) had big careers before Bond took off. But Brosnan did, what, Remington Steele and that's about it? Sure, he was a familiar face, but he certainly wasn't as big as he was now. Same with Craig - did theater, was in Munich, small roles here and there, but Bond is where he really took off and became a worldwide notice. I think that's how it should go - cast smaller actors/relatively unknowns into the role. I don't want to see A-list actors that are already huge play Bond.

    But now that Cavill is making it big, could he play Bond? What about Fassbender? Many people probably wouldn't recognize the name from 'Basterds', but 'X-Men: First Class' was such a hit that he just might be getting too big.

    @Creasy47 Fassbender is very busy right now. I think he´s got three or four movies coming up. In a few years from now both he and Cavill probably are well-known faces around the world.

    But it could be fun to have Superman play Bond ;-) .

    I'm just glad Fassbender has a big career now. Can't say the same for Cavill, as I haven't really seen any of his work, but Tarantino did a good job making some big stars out of 'Inglourious Basterds', with both Fassbender and Waltz. Come to think of it, although he is a bit older, Waltz is crazy enough to be a Bond villain.
