Feedback and Suggestions
  • Okay, so we're a talkative bunch here. At least, we were. Dunno about now. Anyways, these "discussions" are gonna be long. Multiple pages. It's a little annoying that there's no way of going RIGHT to the latest page when selecting a discussion. It's DOUBLY annoying that the page forward/back selectors are at the bottom and not also at the top, so after going to the first page of a thread that might become 400 pages one day, I have to scroll to the bottom and then click. It's two unnecessary steps added to a process that in the "outdated, legacy" software was one.

A "main page" with direct links to each section would be nice. Especially since we'll have lots of posts churning through on busy days and a hard time keeping track of the threads we want to follow.

Top right. Click on categories. Is that what you are suggesting?

Yep - its only edious now, but in future this'll become a huge problem.
  • How can I change my timezone settings? I live in California, USA (pacific time) it's 10:27pm but the time tags currently tell me it's 1:27am
  • Yeah, I forseeing having to click through 400 pages of stuff in certain "discussions".

Thanks for the suggestions. We are looking in to putting the 'jump to latest' link on the indexes, and putting a copy of the page movement links at the top of a Discussion too.

This will happen, especially if we go along the "Coming Soon" solo thread format that we started in the old place.

Hi all, the search functionality is also operational, I know there's been an absence of that tool for many years but hopefully we can get back into the swing of using the search to locate "comments" or whole "discussions".

Also, if you are attached to a particular discussion, just "star" it and it will always be in the menu for you.

No. Can't find that member from ages ago named Cubby Broccoli and his fun house forum website. Or Splinter Cell.

Oh well. He'll always shine on. (Get it, because he was bald? hehehe)

Yes he will. He's a glowing tribute.

    Brightest member around.

Seriously. I need to stop going on here in a public computer lab on campus. I laughed out loud. Who could forget CB's Bang Farm. I remember the avatar fun the one time. Haha.

    I can't top that one.

    Hahahaha.

If the ol' laughing icon was here I'd use it.

EDIT: Oh, there is a laughing icon. That's a relief.
  • Page numbers at the top of each page would be solid. The scrolling is getting annoying.

OMG! The bald guy who thought he could be Bond, but looked perfect for an Andy Kaufman biopic?

I really don't want to spam, but being off-topic slightly, can anyone remember mateo_lalac who was a fanboy of Goran Visnjic back in 2005? Wow - poor thing. He didn't have a chance.

Is there any way to port over the "MI6 Greatest Posts" thread? We'd still have an archive of posts and posters past then...

If you can find it, or provide a link to it someone may be able to manually post content

I also suggest a new "Find the thread Thread".

An equivalent of the old board's 'Your posts' button would be nice, if it's at all possible. And where are the smilies hiding?
  • @Mynameis You can access all your posts by clicking your name (taking you to your profile) and choose the "comments" tab. All your posts should appear there.

The smileys are "hiding" in the top right corner of the comment box.

@Mynameis The smilies are available when you post, on the upper right of the post box -->

Thanks, Disco and Luds ... I think this work PC doesn't 'like' the smilies for whatever reason, they're not appearing. I imagine I'll see them just fine at home. :)

Hahaha, I 'made' that one with a colon and a right bracket.
  • I see, that may be the reason!

    Hehe, yes, the standard ones are easy to get manually by typing : ), : (, : D, : p etc. (without the spaces: :) , :( , :D , :p ), like on the old forum.
