I've always collected all the Corgi models from the days when only they made them, but now it seems so many companies produce Bond model vehicles that I've sort of lost heart, there's plenty other Bond merchandise that appeals to me more. though I will keep the Corgi collection going as I have at least one from each movie up to and including CR.
Having said that good luck with your collection Agent7F some of these modern models are so much better detailed than the Corgi classics and I bet your collection looks fantastic.

Thanks! The first photo are 1/18 scale, the 2nd and 3rd photo is the smaller ones from Corgi... 1/36 scale I think... I have a few more others which I haven't really taken photos of such as the 1/18 Lotus Esprit and BMW Z3 as well as the Corgi 1/36 Goldfinger Aston Martin DB5... Will take some photos of them soon!

And yeah, I want the Aston Martin that Dalton drove in The Living Daylights...!!!!
  • Aah love this thread - will take some shots tomorrow - I want the OHMSS Aston - anyone got one here (silly question)?

@dragonsky The Martini's were from the Sideshow Legacy James Bond figures, namely Brosnan, Lazenby and Dalton. The DAD item behind the DB5 is a CD-ROM that came with the 1/18 Aston Martin Vanquish.. It contains photos and info about the car from the movie..

Well it the The Living Daylight Aston Martin V8 Vantage from Minichamps was to be released next month (August 2011) but it like another Delay. Minichamps sometimes delays. I got the V8 Vantage in the James Bond cars collection & Corgi as well. Minichamps will problem develop Bond BMW Limo from Tomorrow never Dies.

The problem with the Corgi models is that they keep releasing the same items, year after year, in different packaging. They are really just toys and are not up to current collector standards. The mix of scales is also a problem.

Since next year the 50th Anniversary. Either MiniChamps or Corgi should do a 50th Anniversary limited like 9 years for the James Bond cars which was used in the his movies. Not just his Bondmobiles other cars as well like the Mustang or JMC the one he drove in 007 movies. Corgi should do them but count on Minichamps they delay all the time. They've delay Bond Aston Martin V8 Vonlante which was driven by Timothy Dalton. They also got few more cars to go.

I'm sure Corgi will release models in anniversary packaging, but the problem is that will be the same models they've been using for the past decade in 1.36 scale. There won't be any new castings.

Well besides Corgi & Minichamps. How about Autoart & Mattel diecast companies to develop All the James Bond cars from Classic Aston Martin DB5 to current Skyfall cars for the 50th Anniversary? Autoart recently develop Green Hornet. Mattel has a few cars based on Films.

I hope Mattel doesn't get their hands on the Bond license. Their 1/43 diecast character models are ridiculously expensive. Actually, it was Vitesse who did the Green Hornet, and I suspect they got it because nobody else wanted the franchise, the same goes for Auto Art and Mad Max.

Well I look at the Minichamps web. The The Living Daylights Aston Martin Volante which was driven by Timothy Dalton has been cancelled. So it look like Minichamps have now no longer Fiction cars. So don't rely on Minichamps. But let prussure Corgi with all the James Bond cars.

Corgi have already announced their grand pans for the 50th and SF:

    http://www.corgi.co.uk/shop/tv-and-film-favourites/cc04310-james-bond-skyfall-car/

WOW. My cup runneth over. The same model theyve been releasing for the past 20 years in a SF/50th box. Inspired.

Dont hold your breath on them, say, re-releasing all their previous Bond cars in one big 50th set with a die-cast figure and maybe an updated version of Dave Woralls James Bond model cars book. Never going to happen- it would require imagination and effort rather than a cheap cash in.

Same exact model as Casino Royale/QOS. BUT....you get a new license plate decal and the steering wheel moves over! WOW, Corgi. GREAT work. Put me down for a dozen- I'll use em as Christmas stocking stuffers!

I've got yesterday other Minichamps The Spy who love MeLotus Esprit which is the underwater Submarine. That I can say is the last of Minichamps I be getting. So there is me full complete Minichamps collection. I think Corgi should do the James Bond well as 1:36 scale Do 1:43 & 1:18 scale too. Forget Minichamps & other diecast collection organisation.
  • Does anyone know how many 1/18 cars are in the bond collection across all brands. Think I'm up to 17 plus the BMW bike from TND. Can only find 1/24 dealership model of the BMW 750iL without gadgets which is disappointing. Just has my Toyota 2000GT delivered which I think more or less completes the set.
