The trailers will always ramp up the action, considering this is 2hrs 20 mins I'm sure you'll get plenty of story and character development.

They'll always favour the big action sequences because Bond is not made for a niche audience that fawns over it on the internet, it is made for a mass audience and those people tend to associate that with Bond.

Showing a compilation of lots of dialogue sequences and plot might get a Bond fan hard but it won't do nothing for the average joe in the street.

I would have no issues with Sam Mendes returning as Director? Especially with the look of Skyfall! Awesome!

I'm not exactly too pleased with all the action and big stunts shown in the skyfall commercials, I want more story, more emotion and character development rather than all this cheesy in your face unrealistic action. I hope the movie is better than these cliche'd commercials
Craig's era is the era of emotion and character development. Don't worry, Skyfall will be one of the most emotional Bond films yet. And if you don't like unrealistic action, you came to the wrong franchise.
  • I have a suggestion for the next Bond director: Edgar Wright. He's mainly done comedies but the action scenes in Hot Fuzz were actually really well done I thought.

Isn't he tied up with doing or not doing the Ant-Man movie?
  • edited October 2012 Posts: 12,837
I'm not sure, I've never even heard of Ant Man.

He is doing the new Pegg/Frost film though, so that would keep him tied up.

Maybe get Nolan for Bond 24 (or Mendes if he does a good job with SF), and bring in Wright for Bond 25?

You've never heard of Ant-Man?? He's one of the original members of the Avengers. Hank Pym.

I watch superhero films but I've never really read any of the comics (except V for Vendetta).

With Skyfall close to coming out and bond 24 coming out in 2 years (a year from now we may know bond 24's title people.)

I do hope so For Bond 24 in 2014 & Daniel Craig to come back & the rest of the cast too. Including M, Ben Whishaw as Q & hopefully Moneypenny in Bond 24. Felix Leiter & Bill Tanner to come only in optional. But Felix Lieter at this time is to be play only by Geoffrey Wrights who revive the character inCasino Rayale & reprised in Quantum of Solace. I don't want to see a different Felix Lieter all the time. I'll next year think of suggestion I can bring for Bond 24 middle of next year.

Not that it matters but IMDB has added Mr. Cumberbatch to the cast Ironically
it has not added Fiennes Harris or Ben Winshaw all of whom are coming back

Commercials are commercials. You cannot expect that a film with over 2 hours can be resumed by what you see in a watch commercial or even a trailer!

It's the nature of commercials that they put in lots of wham bam. The trailer for CR was similar but the film was not just endless action scenes.

Cumberbatch as Blofeld, with some prostetics to make him look a bit older.

I would say Cumberbatch as whoever, I couldn't care less. If he was in the film, I would be incredibly happy.

There will be a story arc that goes from 24 to 25, whatever their called. And I think BOND25 will end with a cliff hanger.

Okay, so my first prediction- the two film story arc- is being constructed even as we speak.

Logan pitched the arc in the Summer and has already writen a treatment for the next film.

A treatment, is that the basic outline for a script? Or is it the first version of the final script?

A story outline that contains bullet points for what will happen for nearly every scene, over the course of the film. So quite detailed, really. The script may be complete by next Summer, in time for November filming.

I wasn't even on the board during the summer, so who knew? But it sure makes sense.

We've only recently found this information out, though it was rumoured Logan had been asked to give EON his ideas for Bond 24, last October, in 2011.

Maybe a full resolution to the Quantum threat?

Ah, so when they start to cast actors they go from the treatment? If we think they start to search for them in the spring.

But how accurate is this source? I mean, we don't know for sure that Logan is onto something at the moment.

It would be nice to see them front and centre for two films. Bond can finish them off.

Many reputable have been first with this news, it's safe to say this is true. EON will no doubt confirm when Bond 24 is announced, hopefully by January.

I think that this was whispered before. I can safely say that I'm all for Logan to return.

What do you guys think, do they have Mendes as the next director or someone else? They got to have someone in mind by now if they already got a treatment.

Not necessarily though I'm sure all at EON want Mendes back for the next two, or one at least. We should know by next Summer who the director will be.
