YOLT Theme used in Season Finale of Mad Men
  • I just got around to watching it, but I don't know if anyone else caught the use of the YOLT theme in the Season 5 finale of Mad Men. It was played at the very end of the episode and over the credits. The episode was set in in the Spring of 1967 (maybe around Easter), but I didn't think YOLT came out till summer of 67. Did the theme precede the movie?

  • There's the video.

And I think the use of YOLT is due to it being in the same period and Don Draper being reborn back to his normal self.
  • I would agree about it being from the same era and Draper being reborn, but Mad Men is usually pretty good about period consistence (e.g the well known use of the Beatles Tomorrow Never Knows in an episode dating from September 1966, when Revolver would have been released).

I don't know if anyone else who watched that "Mad Men" episode noticed, but when Don and Peggy are in the movie theatre and the film they're watching starts it's the theme to "Casino Royale."
