I think Nick Nack was loyal to Scaramanga and the whole hire an assassin thing was mainly something to help keep Scaramanga's skills sharp, even though Nick Nack would benefit from Scaramanga's death. Perhaps Nick Nack was reluctant to arrange assassinantion attempts on his employer so Scarmanga, wanting to keep his edge, came up with the deal. I mean, if Nick Nack really just wanted the island and the fortune he could have just poisoned Scaramanga's food, or put a blank in the golden gun, or hired 10 guys to try and kill Scaramanga all at once. Unless there was a term in Scaramanga's will stating Nick Nack wouldn't inherit if he directly killed Scarmanga or interfered. But how would you prove that he did? TMWTGG is one of those Bond films it pays not to think too hard about :)

Never explicitly explained on screen, but Vesper being revealed as the double agent in CR would have pretty much cleared him.

QoS has a timeline problem. How did Mathis get tortured, cleared, retired, and placed in a villa so fast? Bond is still reeling from Vesper's death when they meet up again at the villa.

Why is Bond going to Alaska or taking five days to get there, to a destination he doesn't need to go to from Siberia in the View to a Kill teaser. He's got the microchip and back to London I would assume, why the crazy detour, what's in Alaska for him etc

Bond assumed a male contact and was making sure he wasn't about to discuss smuggling with some guy's wife who may not be in on the deal. Also, Bond would want to make sure they wouldn't be disturbed by her husband coming home ;)

Le Chiffre's goons waited until they saw Bond follow Vesper out of the casino, then made sure he saw her getting snatched. It pretty much follows the book in this respect.

The timing is pretty tight, but we don't know how long it took Bond to track down Mr White. It may have been a couple of months between Venice and White's capture at the end of CR.

Ha! I always took it as once he's away from the USSR and safely in the US (Alaska), he could take a flight back to London.

Because Bond knew if Mathis would have contacted Vesper, he would have probably wanted to see Bond too. And Bond thought it was something weird if Mathis just wanted to meet Vesper.

Well i think that QoS story went for perhaps a week. And between Bond was in Venice and he shoots Mr White is maybe like one-two week, he did probably return to London too.

I've would think cruising in a sub back to Alaska and then flying to London would be a slightly less hazardous route than going overland to Moscow and getting a flight from there. It would take just as long and he'd have the whole KGB on his tail and he'd have to forgo Kimberly, the Beluga and Vodka as well. Its a no brainer.

In regards to QOS's "timeline problem" I don't think their really is one. Yes Mathis is tortured, cleared of his crimes, and then retires to his villa but I believe we're meant to belive that Bond spends a number of months recovering in the hospital and then atleast a couple of weeks vacationing with Vesper. And who knows how long it took Bond to track down Mr. White.

In QOS the videogame it's shown that the Madagascar chase at the beginning of CR takes place 6 months before Dominque Greene's eco party. So the time gap is condiderable.

What is the deal with the woman who gets shot at when Bond first reaches Cairo (and before his fight with the bald bloke)? Whose side is she really on? What's with her reaction? Does she get shot? Does Bond presume her guilt, thus letting her (from what I can see, take the bullet?

Simple. She was meant to distract Bond while Saunders shot him. But she didn't count on one thing. She was dealing with Bond whose charms are second to none. After one short kiss she simply couldn't bring herself to help kill such a man.

I thought she was killed because Fekkish, her husband, was selling the sub tracking plans stolen from Stromberg. She was supposed to delay Bond so Fekkish could meet with Amasova. Sandor killed her either to stop her from telling Bond where Fekkish was (to leave the field clear for Jaws), or he just happened to choose that moment to kill her. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think that Bond is supposed to be that charming. Then again, I haven't met Sir Roger in person.

He doesn't know that Zorin knows who he really is yet, because he figures that out when Zorin says, "You lost, 007", and then Bond has that look of surprise on his face.

When Zorin's men start attacking him on the steeplechase, he knows that his cover has been blown. He thinks that Sir Godfrey is driving the car.

Is it a real 'gator in the water or just Moore in his silly disguise, from what I can remember, he makes it back to shore in the 'gator suit and finds Q with Vijay, who had been ambushed by the Gobinda thugs. I have read before it was a real 'gator in the water and not the Bond disguise thing. Feel a bit silly as it's probably obvious but I'm a bit tired now maybe

I'm pretty certain it's a real gator as the thug begins screaming and eventually dies. I doubt Bond would've actually starting eating him just to keep up the illusion. ;)

Right, I knew that he assumed the Tibbett was still alive and driving the car. I guess that makes sense now, seeing that he probably knew his cover was blown when they men attacked him. Still, I always thought it was an attempt to make him lose the race and Bond thought that Zorin's "excercise boys" were just roughed-up riders who liked to play dirty.

Following on the Blofeld discontinuity: Where is his eyescar in OHMSS from YOLT? Did he get plastic surgery? Why do his henchmen wear Olympic logos in OHMSS and lightning bolts in DAF?

What happened to Frau Irma Bunt after OHMSS?

The most confusing scene of the series!!!!: In DAF, when the gangsters throw Plenty out of the window and Bond reacts by punching one of them, why do they leave? Bond is about to say "Now let's talk..." But stops mid-sentence as the ganster drags the other guy off with his gun pointed at Bond. There's even a music cue, as if we're supposed to be revealed to something. ?????

Why does Goldfinger bother to tell the gangsters his plan, only to the kill them all minutes later? Why do they keep trying to lock Bond up? Why not kill him or torture him with the laser again?

That's alot of questions. I'll add my theories/answers.

Question 1- I can only assume he got surgery as the Blofeld of the books was described as a master of disguise. As far as the olympic logos go maybe the winter olympics were going on at the time and they were trying to pass off as regulars there. I've got no idea about the boots :-?

Question 2- I believe Irma Bunt wasn't brought back as the actress who played her passed away shortly after the release of OHMSS. Plus I think they wanted to distance themselves from that film.

Question 3- The gangsters leave because they were working with Tiffany Case and wanted to make suer her and Bond got to spend some quality time first and then talk about the diamonds.

Questions 4-I don't know. Typical plotholes in a Guy Hamilton film I guess.

I thought that line was NSNA. Either way I don't think that ackward line was Felix coming on to him. Just a sign of chummy admiration that might raise an eyebrow or two. And not the good kind of eyebrow like Roger Moore.

The only theory I've heard about that is audiences being used to seeing Roger Moore on a television's screen format. It sounds stupid but that's all I've got. Maybe it was a budget issue..

The budget wasn't that much lower than the previous few films, so it may not be that.

The TV issue, maybe. I'd like to hear more on this topic though. Someone must know the reason why.
