This trailer actually has me pumped to see it! I like the first and third Bourne movies, the second I wasn't a fan of, but I think the trilogy is highly overrated. This new one, IMO, looks like it's going to be as good as the first, if not better.
From what I hear Damon might come back in future installments, and he and Renner will team up.
Renner is quickly becoming one of my favorite actors and I'm really excited to see him take over; I've never been a big fan of Matt Damon and I also think he's slightly overrated as well.

Not bad trailer but certainly no Bond! I,m sure both SF and BL can happily co-exist with BL obviously subservient to Bond! Jeremy Renner is still over-rated IMO and I'd much rather Dan Craig play Steve Mcqueen but I guess the Brits are getting too dominant at playing at American icons ie Superman, Spiderman, Batman so balance has to be restored I guess! Having said that RDJ does play Holmes (not as good as Benedict Cumberbatch IMO)

Indeed. Those are the novel names. So far, they have followed the names (although not the plots). That being said, they may have only gone with Legacy next because it made sense and happened to work out. It will be interesting to see if a sequel to legacy is still called "The Bourne Betrayal."

I think the Spider-Man reboot looks great. Not sure why everyone is hesitant to let go of the Raimi films.

It's not that, it's just the whole film and it's trailers reek of "been there, done that". Even early audience response is said to have been so-so.

I suppose the retread of the origins could be rough, perhaps they should've just done one of thos reboots like The Incredible Hulk. But, the trailer blew me away. So I'm holding out hope.

I've never really liked spiderman anyway (only saw the 1st film), but is there any point in re-telling his origins again??? I'm hoping the batman reboot after nolan leaves doesn't do this. Alot of these big franchises need to understand that you can reboot a series without telling an origin story.

Well considering Raimi should've gotten another go at it after he got screwed over during 3, not being allowed to do his ideas, fans are understandably bent. Spiderman 2 is the greatest superhero film ever next to The Dark Knight.

It is so-so. The Raimi films were great, with CGI of course where it was needed, but for the most part actual stunts were done. With this stupid reboot it seems like a special effects crap show.

As a die hard spider-man fan I hated Raimi's movies because they were lacking in a major way and the casting of Maguire was horrible. Maguire lacks charisma and the character was given next to no personality at all. I'm glad Taimi and co are gone and the news of the reboot and the casting brought a smile and a joy to my soul. Needless to say the new theatrical trailer that was just released a few days ago rocked my socks! This reboot isn't a retread of what Raimi did, it's significantly different in every conceivable way and it's going to be a monster smash this summer.

Umm. It's actually the EXACT opposite. They have filmed a ton of web swinging with a guy actually swinging from wires in this movie versus the Raimi trilogy where only the take-off shots (Spidey jumping into the air) were practical effects and every other shot of Spidey in action was full blow CGI (see every swinging scene, and even little scenes such as Symbiote Spidey looking at his reflection in the building when he is first infected: 100% CGI).

The more I watch the trailer the more I like it. I'll go see it, but I'm pretty confident it wont live up to Batman, Bond, or even the Avengers. Its just a popcorn flick, and I'll enjoy it as that.

Yeah, I don't like spiderman and I don't really want to read about him on a bourne thread.

I think it'll be better than the avengers, but I've never really liked these kind of crossovers like justice league n all that. If damon was there then I'd say it was pretty strong competition for batman and bond (bourne has topped both before imo), but since bourne isn't even there then I'd say its already below both. They could suprise me though, and as long as I don't compare it to the past films too much then I'll enjoy it.

Are you always such a prat when proving your side of the argument? Do you think I don't know that CGI was heavily used in the Spiderman trilogy, prominently the 3rd that doesn't exist to me? They are obviously not going to have a stunt man actually swinging on wires and doing flips across the tallest buildings in New York. I said the reboot SEEMS like a SFX crap show, not that I was declaring to the masses that no stunt work has been done like you are implying. The Raimi films had a ton of stunts, that is true, and that is why I said it. Obviously SFX were used in heavy parts of some action sequences during moments where no stunt man could be used based on either the improbability of success or fear of danger. I KNOW. I am simply going off what I saw in the trailers so far, and have made an inference that it SEEMED to be a SFX crap show. And it will have heavy CGI, just like the rest, so I don't see what you are irked about. And before you try to make a claim as to what I do and do not know, why don't you simply tell me you have a counter argument instead of insulting my intelligence.

meh. Because it's easier to go the internet route and just go straight for the attack. My apologies.

While I disagree with your analysis, I think only time will show that "The Amazing Spider-man" used many more practical affects than the Raimi films.

Meanwhile, Bourne.

I think we obviously have to see more. Bourne has always been a movie inherently set up to go down this route. It could never be "Bourne takes on this mission" because that would devalue his character arc if he started becoming a Bond like agent. He accomplished what he wanted to do and got away.

However, as the poster points out in such cliched fashion, the series has always shown the existence of others. What are there stories? Whose to say they are not more compelling than Bourne. It's a bold angle to explore, and Joe-public doesn't necessarily grasp it yet. But maybe they will.

I trust Renner to deliver in the action, at the very least.

I'm looking forward to seeing this as I think Renner is a talented, charismatic, cool actor but I hope this film has the same action to dialogue ratio as the first Bourne film. The third had too much action. It does seem a bit strange not actually having Jason Bourne in this. Initially I thought Renner would actually be playing Jason Bourne. I hope they'll make another film, whether it's based on a book or not where Matt Damon stars as Jason Bourne again and he finally finds peace...yet at the same time I thought he'd found this at the end of the first one and someone keeps coming after him. So, whether the audience would really believe he's found this or not I don't know.

Dan Bradley. Not realy a big suprise. He did Bourne 2 & 3 too. It take very long and before Second United Directer beconfirmd for Skyfall and Bourne 4 and i am thinking mabey Bradley going to do it (with not any movie confirmd for 2012 til now). Skyfall beconfirmd months a go it be Alexander Witt return from Casino Royale. Both second united directers are back home. Witt returns from Casino Royale and the second united directer of Bourne Legacy is expect it.... Dan Bradley.

Since QOS Dan Bradley did 2 movies include Mi4, with the from TMND borote cinematopgrapher Robert Elswit who also working on Bourne Legacy.

I don't think The Bourne Redundancy is any match for Mission Impossible. MI4 tried some great new things in both action and story, while the new Bourne looks like a copy and paste of the past series that is unfortunately inside its continuity.

But MI4 was advertised as an adventure film, following a group of spies on a mission to stop a mad terrorist.

Legacy is advertising a claustrophobic look at a re-born character made up of scraps from a previous story. No big set pieces, not drawn-out dramatic scenes, just quick action, and a drawn-out storyline oddly familiar.

I'll give Legacy a chance, but I like thinking about it like that ^ so that I may be pleasantly surprised.

The Bourne franchise is not only getting new faces both in front of and behind the camera, it is set to get a whole new look - one that doesn't induce nausea.

Talking with MTV News, the film's director Tony Gilroy says you won't be seeing the 'shaky-cam' aesthetic that defined Paul Greengrass' two 'Bourne' sequels here - "Everybody in the world ripped us off. [That style] been done to death at this point. [The style is] on TV three nights a week, much less Bond and everything else. The worst thing that could have been done would be to just slavishly follow some cookie-cutter pattern of visual style and storytelling style."

He goes on to say "it's a bigger movie in the terms of the journey of it and the scale of it and the amount of stories in it and where it's going… You thought you were seeing the world, and this movie is telling you that there's a much larger world, a much larger conspiracy beyond this."

That said it's still a sequel as such - "The events of the other three films are incredibly present, but they're not really in this very much. What happens in 'Ultimatum' is really the spark that's blowing open the door to this movie. Because the Jason Bourne story is exploding out into the public. Being impossible to conceal any further is causing problems for this much larger conspiracy. 'Ultimatum' plays in the background of the very beginning of this film."

Jeremy Renner's character will also have an entirely different story arc from Damon - "The whole second film ['The Bourne Supremacy'] is about an apology. It's really about this guy trying to morally come to grips with the conflict between who he thinks he is and what he's done. This character in this film has no moral conflict whatsoever. Jeremy Renner's character has the reverse of amnesia. He knows exactly where he's come from. He knows exactly what the stakes are if he doesn't achieve his journey. It's a very different tone, yet it will be very rewarding to people."

So the style mabey going to look like "Salt" who have the same editor as Legacy and also have Robert Elswit as Cinematopgrapher. I haven't seen ''Salt'' yet and i wait til i have BD player.

I can't see a Bourne Movie without Bourne/Damon doing much damage at the Box Office, I amy be way off the mark with this prediction but I can see this new start of the franchise being nothing more than a one off flop!
