What Bond locations have you been to?

As we were talking about visiting Piz Gloria on the "villain's lair thread"
http://www.mi6community.com/index.php?p=/discussion/2416/villains-lair-then-and-now/p2#Item_38
and someone came up with having been to Willard Whyte's Summer home and someone else asking about Whitaker's villa in Tangiers, I thought this could be an interesting thread of it's own:

So, what Bond locations have you been to? You can just make a list of the places (cities, buildings, landmarks...) you have seen or if you like you can tell us a little more about it and share your experiences with us. Is it worth going, are there still lots of movie reference points, etc. etc.

I will get this started with Piz Gloria, but having already written a lot about it on the above mentioned thread, I'd like to refer to that one, if you want to learn more.

Who is next?

I've been to every location in Corfu used in For Your Eyes Only, except from the Villa Sylva (Hector Gonzales's villa). I even found the dirt roads that doubled for Spain for the car chase.

@JWESTBROOK: Now I want to visit that place!!! Hahahaha.

The only location I've been to that's relatively close to a Bond location is Fort Knox in Kentucky. I was driving through that area on my way to northern Kentucky, and we passed a sign that said "Fort Knox, x number of miles." I just about lost it! I wanted to go there so bad!!!

I sort of took advantage of where I was - when I was in Rio in 2002 they had a local travel agent which did trips to Iguacu Falls for £150 return. Brazilian prices. Included flight, accomodation and tour. Thats good value considering the size of Brazil.

Well worth it to see Iguacu.

Nice topic, @JR_747. I must admit, I have a bit of a hobby for visiting locations of Bond when I'm in that country. Would love to visit Piz Gloria (OHMSS) one day.

    So far, my list is:

    - Karlovy Vary, Prague and Locket (Casino Royale) - I had a meal at the same table Bond and Vesper sat at after he won the game.
    - Lake Como - including the gardens where Bond is in rehab (CR) - stunning gardens and view of the lake. There was a wedding there when I visited.
    - Siena - where the Palio takes place (QOS) - an amazing and underated city in a country full of stunning cities. So beautiful.
    - Venice (MR and CR)
    - Thailand (Bangkok and Phuket - TMWTGG)
    - Vienna sites used in TLD - the fun fair and Palace.
    - Golden Gate Bridge (AVTAK)
    - Eiffel Tower (AVTAK)
    - Cairo pyramids (TSWLM)
    - Istanbul sites used in FRWL - market, mosque, boat ride and train station.
    - London (including all Skyfall sites)
and a few others I've forgotten.

Its my birthday the week after next and I'm returning to Czech Republic to take advantage of the cheap beers and a few of the lovely looking ladies I know there! I'm going to visit Karlovy Vary and Locket again too (CR). Locket (the castle town where Bond/Vesper meet Mathis) is one of the most beautiful towns I've ever been too - especially in summer time. You must try and visit some time, guys. And beers in the pubs/restaurants in that town cost me.... 40p!!!!! Amazing!

Has he been to Pennsylvania? Oh, he hasn't? In that case: NO.

    I've been to:

    - New York City, New York (LALD)
    - San Francisco, California (AVTAK)
    - Las Vegas, Nevada (DAF)
    - London, England
    - Paris, France (AVTAK)
    - Bern, Switzerland (OHMSS)
    - Piz Gloria, Switzerland (though when I arrived to the cable car, the last one had left already, so I couldn't get up to the restaurant :( ... I did manage to get a souvenir pin of JB though) (OHMSS)
    - Black Forest, Germany
    - Frankfurt, Germany
    - Lake Como, Italy (took a picture of my wife on a boat, with Villa del Balbianello in the background, but was unable to walk around on land) (CR)
    - Venice, Italy (MR & CR)
    - Murano, Italy (apparently a part of MR was filmed on the island there, but I asked around and no one knew where exactly?) (MR)

I've also been to a few places that surprises me haven't been in a Bond movie before. Why hasn't Bond been to?:

    - Rome, Italy
    - Milan, Italy
    - Zurich, Switzerland
    - Nice, France
    - Athens, Greece
    - Montreal, Canada
    - Quebec, Canada

Maybe these places are too touristy?

They're "touristy" because they are the best places to be on this earth. :)

Vegas, London, Hong Kong and Jamaica (where I've visted James Bond beach before).

I know "why" they are touristy, I'm just not sure why these places haven't been in a Bond film yet. I could easily see Bond in Nice, Rome or Athens. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing Bond in New York or Paris again as well.

Nice! I'm booked there in winter 2015. Next winter I'll be climbing various Caribbean volcanoes.

I've only been to Nawlins and was in Miami only on a connecting flight to the USVI, but Vegas is on my bucket list as is England, of course.

He has been close to the ones you listed, but not right at those specific locations. I do see what you mean though, plenty of great locations there.

And places I've been where Bond should go- Syndey, Dublin and Madrid.
