Filming has only just got underway on the next James Bond adventure "Skyfall", due out October/November 2012, but the tabloids are off to a historically early start on Bond Girl rumours for the next film after that: Bond 24.

Actress, singer, song-writer and model Lola Ponce has been linked by press in Mexico to the film, which could be out in 2014.

The 29 year-old Argentinian said, "I had a meeting in Rome, I was offered to be the new Bond girl. It is an honor to know who thought of me ... we'll see if I can arrange the time with all the projects already committed."

She is currently one of the leading actresses of The Talisman, a Spanish-language soap opera that is transmitted on Univision.

Although fairly well known in her home country of Argentina thanks to her debut album Inalcanzable, (which was released in 2001), her career has really taken off in Italy, after starring in musical Notre-Dame de Paris in Verona. Ponce has since released two more albums — Fearless (2004) and Il diario di Lola (2008) — and has performed in Spanish, Italian and English. In 2008, along with Giò Di Tonno, she won San Remo Festival with the song "Colpo di fulmine".

    BAHAHAHAHA!

I'm sorry, but this sounds like the typical quick grab for publicity ahead of an upcoming Bond film - the difference being that she missed the boat for SKYFALL and so has had to make out that she is in the running for the next film.

I think her surname says it all. Ponce, indeed.

    Agreed.

Ah, you gotta love these actresses who get swept up in the whole Bond extravaganza, claiming this and that just to get a bit of attention. Now before I jump to any more conclusions, I realize there is a quantum of possibility (see what I did there) that there's some truth to it- but common sense based on the outcome of similar past announcements tells me it's bs. Skyfall's bound to be a success, but the release is still 11 months away, and I doubt EON would get ahead of themselves in this way. If it is indeed true- then that means there's already a script for B24, and this further raises my already sky-high doubts. Having said all that, based on that last pic alone I'd like to see 'more' of her. ;)
  • Judging by those pics that'd be fine by me. :D

I didn't read the article. There is obviously no truth in it at all. Why does MI6-HQ report things like this?

What actors will do and say just to get some press! But it does work. She's got the
exposure- all be it short lived.

Who's got the exposure? Oh, right- that girl, what's-her-face. I'd already forgotten about her. ;)

She doesn't need a name with a body like that...

Plus I like that we have our second Bond 24 rumor (first is that Logan and Mendes will return)

How long before the Sun claims Risico/Carte Blanc/ The Property of a lady is the title and Sean Connery is playing every role except for bond him self.

wow... I have never seen rumours for the follow-up of the upcoming film starting so early... :!! SF is 1 year away, and we're already talking about Bond 24 ? the tabloids might as well start making top 10 lists of potential successors to Craig every week...

It's a shame to see that people are willing to just somebody's worth based purely on their physical appearance.

It's called a joke. Perhaps you should look up the definition for the word.

Also in the words of one of the best keyboardists ever "What a bloody waste of time this has been" Rick Wakeman.

Oh stop it with that. Just because I prefer Bond girls to be sexy (and not 3-dimensional characters) doesn't mean I'm sexist. Honestly you should shut up next time instead of calling people things they aren't just because you don't follow their opinions...

Yes, it was just a joke. There's no need to blow statements out of proportion, let alone turn every bloody discussion into an argument. Now let's move on, shall we?

  • Just because I prefer Bond girls to be sexy (and not 3-dimensional characters) ...

Obvious question (to me, it seems) - why can't they be both..?

As for the actress rumour, reporting on these things only encourages them to continue. It's the PR version of feeding the trolls on an internet thread.

Well, she does have a nice pair of eyes, among other things.

I don't believe any of that though.

The man was having a bit of a joke, big deal. Its not sexist, if you want sexism go watch the early connery films.

If anything this may prove some sort of pre-production is ready, or about, to get underway on Bond 24 soon, which bodes well for a 2014 release date. And that a Bond 24 board should be created, just for this article. ;)

Well? She certainly looks the part for a Bond girl! But? The only thing i wanna hear about Bond 24 is that its happening in 2014?!!! That will more than make me happy! And if this lady is in it? I can cope with that. ;)

No, that doesn't mean you're sexist. That's just misguided.

The way you claim women are only real women when they are pleasing men, however, is sexist.

Wow this must be a record for the earliest rumor regarding a Bond film...

You're clearly baiting @shadowonthesun, having ignored all the other posts, but replying to DC's. It's no surprise, as we all know you two will never see eye to eye.
Quite frankly I've had enough of this pathetic behaviour.
Last chance to give it a rest.

Actually, DC's post was the first unread post in the thread when I visited it. I didn't read the rest of the posts because I was incensed that he stuck his nose where it didn't belong. I pointed out that Risico007's "joke" was, in fact, sexist. DC decided to make the discussion all about him.
