'O.H.M.S.S.' ranks in favourite festive movie poll

The sixth James Bond film, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" starring one-time 007 George Lazenby, has appeared in a Radio Times poll to find the nation's favourite movies that are set at Christmas time. Although set at that time of the year, it is not really seen as a 'Christmas' movie to the general public, so its inclusion was a surprise.

The other 007 adventure to feature Christmas, "The World Is Not Enough", did not make the top 50.

    I don't know how I feel about that list. How the hell did the remake of Miracle on 34th St. beat out the original? And while I love the Muppet Christmas Carol, I don't know that it deserves the #2 spot. And where's The Thin Man???

    I thought OHMSS was to very christmasy but DIE HARD!!!!!!!! NOTHING says christmas like mother-

    BAD SANTA is in that list, now there is a Christmassy movie I would not watch with the kids. :D

    It's a Christmas tradition for me to watch OHMSS every Christmas Eve. I've been doing it every year since my Grandfather first introduced me to the Bond films twenty years ago.

    I usually do.

    How OHMSS was not included in this so-called Radio Times poll is an outrage.

    I can see "It's a Wonderful Life" being the top rated and a few others ranking ahead of OHMSS, but a few of these films don't belong.

    Female Trouble didn't even get a vote. Why bother listing it.

    I can't believe TWINE wasn't in the poll, it has one of the best Xmas lines in history... "I thought Christmas only came once a year"!!!

    And where, pray, is breathtaking 1978 Canadian thriller 'The Silent Partner' starring Elliott Gould, Christopher Plummer and Susannah York? Not only does it take place entirely at Christmas but it even features an attempted bank hold-up by a psychopath dressed as Santa!
