Comment entry now has easy buttons for fonts, marking spoilers, inserting images and links. BB Code is now standard.

Real-time pop up notifications of activity related to you, which are fully customisable. These are off by default. You will need to click 'My Preferences' on your profile page to enable them.

Email notifications have been improved and you can select individual preferences on which ones you receive.

Choose which style page you are greeted with (click the 'Default Index Settings' link on your profile page to make a selection).

Create your 00-Info mini bio with your birthday, location and favourite Bond elements.

The Activity, Discussions and Comments notification area on your Profile page are now fully operational.

BB Code is now supported in Conversations (private messages) for embedding images and videos.

Inbox has been improved to count notifications more accurately and members of a conversation can be added and removed.

Back To Top links added to all pages.

Added additional sub-categories for Movies: Actors, Music, Trivia & Games

Default timezone is now London GMT. If your browser does not support Javascript timezone, you will see GMT times on discussions.

The "Skyfall" news and spoilers category is now hidden until you log-in.

Some of us were in the middle of extensive posts -_-

    All is forgiven, though :)

Do we have a swear filter?

Do you see it in the list above? ;)

That didn't make the cut this time. It's near the top of the heap for next time.

No swear filter, please! Not that I like swearing but I hate political correctness.
  • It has nothing to do with political correctness, and everything to do with people abusing the system simply because they can. Swearing is also a sign of a poor vocabulary.

Sometimes its appropriate for a good joke, though.

And it would mess up quotes. Especially Tarantino quotes.
  • Swearing is never necessary. It's appropriate if you just kicked your foot against the doorjamb, as I did the other night, but it's never necessary.

I think swearing is completely fine as long as it is not used for personal attack.

The forum rules will remain the same with or without a swear filter. There is some language not appropriate for a community wherein members are sometimes as young as 13. The presence of some code that converts offensive language to "bleeps" should make very little difference to conduct, and indeed what the moderators will expect of your posts.

A filter will be initiated when we have the time to create one.
  • If someone swears should we just flag it to a mod?

And there he is... once again: the man who knows everything and assumes everyone has to share his opinions!
  • Nice update, MI6! Wish I was more involved in the forum these days : /
  • Great upgrades, many thanks for your time.
  • Very nice update indeed :)

Calm down. As has rightly been pointed out, there are some members of these forums who are as young as 13. Is it too much to ask that they don't be needlessly exposed to bad language?
  • "Category Management
You are currently only viewing categories that you follow.
    Show unfollowed categories"

I noticed this in the right column. Can you decide which categories to follow/unfollow? If so, I can't seem to find out how. If working, it's a great way for people to stay away from the Skyfall spoilers section for instance.

Huh, I was just thinking about how I liked the forums but would love them if one received topic reply notifications. Thirty seconds later I went onto the Mi6 page and there was the article!

    Much more user friendly. Kudos.

Here's a picture of an adorable puppy and kitty that is much easier to post the image.

    Spoiler:
    And they're simple BBCode ones!

  • I understand the mods position on swearing and the need for rules and regs but I can quite honestly say that I find posts like "your wrong" and the implication of idiocy if a member disagrees with your viewpoint far more offensive than any swearing I have come across on here.

Let the Mods mod and I'd rather stamp out disrespect as opposed to playful banter.

Cracking update by the way guys!!

Still have issues when viewing on IPod touch though, always loads to the first page of the thread with no 'jump to page' option as per the PC view.

Or even Ian Fleming's quotes. Remember Casino Royale ?

Anyway, good additions to the forum. Thanks a lot.
