Which PAST Bond would you pick to film one more movie if they could? YOU CAN ONLY PICK ONE!
Connery? Lazenby? Moore? Dalton? or Brosnan?

I for one, would have picked Dalton, although hes a serious Bond, I would have liked to see what they could have come up with, Bond 17. Cheers!

    Timothy Dalton. Easily.
    I for one, would have picked Dalton, although hes a serious Bond, I would have liked to see what they could have come up with, Bond 17. Cheers!

    @Virage good point, and possibly, Lazenby could have finished his 4 year contract, that would have been strange.

    Dalton. Two Dalton films is not enough for me. If problems didn't arise, he could have slipped in two more e.g. '91; '93.

    So true - would have finished the story nicely - something DC and co did with their first two wubbish attempts of what they call Bond movies....pah.

    dalton. dalton. dalton. best bond, could've and should've carried on. As much as i loved brosnan i would've absoloutely LOVED to see dalton in goldeneye, the film was basically written for him.

    @thelivingroyale I'm there with most people on Dalton, but I dunno about Dalton for Goldeneye, I just can't see it. But I will say, out of all the Brosnan Bond films, Goldeneye least fits the others he did... but I'm not 100% on that either.

    That is the single biggest regret I have about the Bond franchise, incidently the second being Pierce Brosnan being appointed the 5th James Bond.

    Though I am basing my answer on one memorable performance, Albert R. Broccoli is qouted as saying "Had Lazenby continued he would have surpassed Sean Connery" - I concur.

    I was gonna say Dalton but I think Lazenby could take Jarvier Bardem in a fight, so I would say LAZENBY

    Lazenby easily. Dalton already had one film too many. A Hunt-directed DAF with Lazenby is the series' single greatest missed opportunity imho.

    Dalton gets my vote. IMO the biggest shame in the franchise is that Dalton never made his third film. Lazenby comes in a close second as I would've loved to have seen a revenge-driven DAF. The other 3 actors, if anything, stayed on 1 film too many.

    Moore, but one added a year early, not a year after.

    TBH, a 2nd and 3rd Lazendby, followed closely with Moore, but a film in place of Moonraker, and then 3 Dalton films, Brosnan for 3, and then Craig as it stands. Oh and no Connery with DAF ot NSNA

    I have to side with Dalton, and not just because he's my favorite Bond either, if for arguments sake the franchise had continued it's two yearly run then Tim in 1991 appearing again as 007 in that years release would of been a joy to watch, still a great pity we only saw the great man in two movies

    Lazenby to a degree could well have worked at the advent of the 1970s but it's a case of what might have been, it's a shame George gets castigated by many for his one appearance but there are those that say he did a stellar job of it and I for one would of liked to hve seen him have another run out

    If we are talking about end of Bond tenures then it's a No No to Connery, most definitely Moore and Brosnan too, Craig still has something left in him you would argue

    Dalton without question for me. I don't hold him quite as high as Connery and Craig, but Dalts is my 3rd favorite Bond, and he is massively underrated by general filmgoers. Perhaps financially it would have been questionable, but I would have loved to see Timothy Dalton in Bond 17.

    I added a poll.

    My vote goes to Sean Connery, obviously. I mean, come on. I'm born in '82. Besides NSNA - and I was only 1 year old - I've never had the honour of experiencing a new Bond film with Connery as the lead.

    Lazenby. The single greatest missed opportunity. He had a natural grace and relaxed charm that leant itself to film acting (unlike the theatrical style of Dalts who over cooked every movement and every expression)

    Pierce Brosnan. He really aged well post 2002, and he gain some much needed acting talent. So yes I could see him...I'd love to see in 1 more film... I can even see him in 3 more films after DAD.

    Lazenby! Love OHMSS and a second (maybe more?) movie with Lazenby as Bond would have been great. To bad his managers/agents did not let him sign a deal!

    I am going to argue against the pro-Dalton stance. Here's why: Dalton simply wasn't making the series enough money. LTK was the lowest earning Bond film (adjusted for inflation) to date. Public enthusiasm for the series was on the wane. I would foresee Dalton#3 only continuing the slow burn of the series down to a halt. On the contrary, Brosnan in GE nearly doubled the box office of LTK. I think the 6 year break was probably healthy for the series in revamping the character. Plus having the popular N64 game was perfect timing all around, in addition to Brit-pop and the rise of Cool Britannia of the mid 90's. Again it was all timing. Everything came together right. I personally would have loved another Dalton Bond film, but I don't think we would be here talking about CR, SF or Daniel Craig for that matter.
