Time until Bond is referred to as 007? Total guess not read every post.
  • Nope, hasn't been guessed yet and that's not it either

But won't the eventual solving of the riddle, even if it takes years, be more satisfactory if we don't have that given to us?

In general, I agree but if nobody participates after two weeks nobody will ever solve it .... I mean in the 2guess the character game2, we get additional help every few days. Well, we can also leave it as it is now. I don't mind... Keep on guessing!!

This thread has slipped to the fourth page. I think we're all out of guesses and need a clue.

This is a tough one. So far, this is what it ISN'T:

    - Nothing to do with vehicles.
    - Time until first animal is seen.
    - Time until ally/colleague of Bond's dies.
    - Time until dialogue was spoken.
    - Time until Bond meets an ally.
    - Amount of time the title song is used.
    - Time in a tuxedo.
    - Amount of nonviolent confrontations with the villain.
    - Time until climax.
    - Amount of "Thank You"s.
    - Amount of times "Sorry" is used.
    - Time until Bond rides in a car with someone.
    - Number of kills.
    - Nothing to do with the PPK.
    - Time until Bond eats.
    - Amount of drinks the main Bond girl has.
    - Time until a girl is killed by villain/henchman.
    - Time until we see fruit.
    - Length of briefing scene.
    - Amount of time director's name is on screen post-credits.
    - Time until Bond is greeted as '007'.

It seems to be not as obscure as we're expecting, and is an action/event that happens on-screen. I think I'm about to pop in TWINE or TND to see if anything stands out.

EDIT: Damn, this is really bugging me now. Rewatching TND, trying to come up with an exclusion/inclusion of anything that's solely related to TND and TWINE, and aside from a couple of random things, I've got nothing. Anytime I find an angle on what the answer might be, I go through the list of films and find that it's eventually negated. Great round you've got going here.

He has a bourbon in M's office in TWINE, so it can't be that.

That is true.. May it have anything to do with clothes?

It's been noted that it doesn't have anything to do with Bond in a tuxedo/clothing changes throughout the film. The problem for me is trying to find something that's ONLY in TND or TWINE, or trying to find something lacking from these two that is present in the other 22 films.

Thanks! Just to clarify: it's something that's NOT in Tomorrow Never Dies or The World Is Not Enough, but IS in every other film.
  • It does not have to do with clothes. Neither is it drinks which are not Vodka martinis.
  • Greatest to least:

    1. Spectre
    2. Casino Royale
    3. From Russia With Love
    4. Dr. No
    5. Licence to Kill
    6. The Living Daylights
    7. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    8. Live and Let Die
    9. For Your Eyes Only
    10. Quantum of Solace
    11. Moonraker
    12. GoldenEye
    13. A View to a Kill
    14. The Man with the Golden Gun
    15. The Spy Who Loved Me
    16. You Only Live Twice
    17. Octopussy
    18. Diamonds Are Forever
    19. Die Another Day
    20. Thunderball
    21. Goldfinger
    22. Skyfall

Not applicable: Tomorrow Never Dies and The World Is Not Enough

@GBF, I rewatched TND yesterday, probably should've thrown in TWINE immediately after to make it easier for me. Really can't figure out what in the hell I'm missing.

Now I'm debating if I should put in TWINE again, or watch it immediately before/after one of the other 22 installments, to see if anything stands out.

I have the feeling that it is nothing about Bond himself since he is almost doing everything in TWINE and TND. He is using any kind of vehicle, changes locations, having several women, killing other people im several ways, he is eating, drinking, changing clothes, he is in a casino...

It's apparently rather apparent, too, and now I'm scanning my brain for something obviously missing from TND and TWINE that every other film has. Damn, this is tough.

Another option would be to watch SF/SP back-to-back, to see what hardly appears in SF but features more than any of the other films in SP. I most certainly won't be doing it, but it's an option for anyone else who would enjoy sitting through those two installments.
