I have a 2.01 balance in my iTunes acct...I drained it down to the bottom and left this much in for one reason.

I've contacted some folks in radio about this song- not much knowledge out there of it.

I'll probably get killed for this as it will probably turn out to be a famous piece of non-Bond music, but what is the music playing in the Everything or Nothing trailer?

If its unknown could this be our theme tune ala the Coke ad from QOS...?

To me, it sounds very Peter Gunn-y

  • From Rolling Stone Magazine: "The track, titled “Let the Sky Fall,” has been described by Showbiz 411 as an “ominous, dramatic ballad.

Finally! A Bond-ballad! By jolly........maybe something like 'For Your Eyes Only' or 'All Time High' ? I seriously hope so.....

Mucho happy that it will be Adele but so sad that we missed out on gangnam style..what a pity?

    According to James Bond Lifestyle

On the 1st of October the name of the artist of the SkyFall titlesong will finally be released. It is very likely that this will be Adele. On October 5th, International James Bond day, this titlesong will be released and immediately available on iTunes.

I have heard some say it is a Newman track quite possibly. It sounds more like a movie score than anything else. I don't care, just so it is in the film!

We've had plenty of ballads over these 50 years, I was hoping for another rock theme.

Brilliant. Did I not say this type of thing would happen three days ago? ;)

    Three days to go!

I think we should leave all options open, guys. A good ballad is a good ballad, no matter the fact it's a ballad. ;-) I think there's a difference between just any ballad and, for instance, brilliant songs like YOLT, NDIB and FYEO.

Exactly! If it has the soul of any of those classic Bond themes before Tomorrow Never Dies, then it can't go wrong!

Uhm, someone saying that does not appreciate the variety of the Bond songs through the years. A Bond song is not solely a rock song. Many genres of music ended up as a Bond song. From the romantic ballads 'For Your Eyes Only' and 'Nobody Does It Better' to the sultry jazzy sound of 'You Only Live Twice' and 'All Time High'. From the belting voices of Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey to the legendary bands Wings, A-Ha and Duran Duran. And from soul legends Gladys Knight and Tina Turner back to hard rock songs 'You Know My Name' and 'Another Way To Die'. And I think Adele can offer us something different from the previous two Bond songs.

Saying that you are 'sick of the ballads' is saying that you ignore certain parts of Bond history. Luckily I am open to all genres of music. I do appreciate rock a lot. Hence the fact that I adore the new Muse album. I just think it's time for something else for 'SkyFall'. So 'Let The Sky Fall'!

I think Skyfall needs a big Bassey type ballad, I also think it needs to be the biggest hit that the series has seen in decades and with Adele we will get that.

I'm certainly not one who hates the rock tracks I liked both YKMN & AWTD but a proper Bondesque ballad is needed, this is supposed to be Bond with a capital B.

There are so many more Bond-Oriented musicians, artist's and bands out there that are so much better than Adele. EON is simply choosing Adele because she's a money-maker. Adele is the cats-meow for the time-being , so it's obvious why they are choosing her. I'm really disappointed with Adele being the artist chosen. I think she's boring and just like everything els these days...not original in the least

Way to generalize. You can't make everyone happy. And Adele is a hell of a lot better than Lady Gaga, who was a supposed choice a while back.

Well this time next week we will have a deluge of 007 information finally revealed! Especially the singer!

+1. It's NOT about the money; it's about Skyfall being a return to "classic" (GF/TB) Bond. Adele is just about as close as you can get to GF-era Shirley Bassey without sending a DeLorean back to 1964. (Yes, Dame Shirley's still with us; but let's just say she's not what she used to be. I wouldn't mind her doing the closing theme, however.)

So it looks like it might as well be official comfirmed as Adele. This is enough proof. bond_23_adele_single_cover.jpg

Nancy Sinatra was a money-maker in 1967 too, just like Adele is now. Same with Duran Duran and A-Ha. Famous names have always been associated with Bond.

I will judge the song first, then I can honestly say if I am disappointed. If the money-issue is the reason not to hire her, then I find it stupid. Frankly, Bond needs a big name. And Adele IS big now.

    Nah, they're better than that.
  • By the way, I have the 'Casino Royale made me go crazy in 2006 and I saw the best Bond movie of my life' -vibe again :-P. This time around, it will be the Bond music that is really giving me orgasms thinking about it :-P. From the perfect soultry voice of Adele to Thomas Newman talent as Oscar nominated movie composer. And on top of all, I get my most beautiful birthday present on October 5th: Adele's song 'Let The Sky Fall' :-D.

I just hope the themesong will be used throughout the score by Newman.
