Time to dust your English / French dictionary, here's the app to tell you which Bond movie suits you best :)

There was also a nice big graphic in the newspaper, but alas the online version is low res :

I would love to give it a go but the link doesn't seem to work.

If I open it in a private mode session it seems to work for me at least (I have Chrome if it matters)

In the graphic above, note how it jumps to the eye that Pierce Brosnan is "Satellite Bond" :)

Believe me you don't want to know what ridiculous French and German names the various Bond movies were given!

Fireball and Diamondfever are even the harmless examples.

    Try this:
    On A Deadly Mission
    A Touch Of Death

The origin of the translation tells you a lot about Roger Moore's popularity here :

"The Persuaders" was translated as "Friendly Yours" when it was shown on TV.
(in French : "Amicalement Vôtre"). The TV show was hugely popular (in Germany too), even more than in the US and UK according to many. The dubbers were genius, I must add, and they even changed some lines to adapt it to the French audience (because we didn't have the UK accent vs US accent concept, so they made somehow Brett Sinclair an ubercool and uberclassy character to make it even more "English" - it's quite telling about the alleged hate between France and UK :) ).

And "Dangerously Yours" is therefore a direct tribute to it !
    (in French : "Dangereusement Vôtre")

In both cases, the first word is 5 syllabs long, so to the French ear the tribute is quite straightfoward.

So, Roger Moore was so popular here that to name a movie from 1985, they used a name from his TV period 15 years before !
