Premium Bond BBC4

Did anyone catch this programme the other night on BBC4? Critic Matthew Sweet and actor writer Mark Gatiss basically sitting at a bar sipping martinis, and making an analysis of all the James Bond actors. Really entertaining, and in my mind quite an accurate summimg up of those who portrayed 007.
In short, Connery was the template, cold yet impressive
Lazenby an amateur, who nonetheless handled THAT ending quite well, and starred in one of the very best films
Moore was too old for the part and his age became a major factor (Gatiss description of his visit to AVTAK with his Dad is hilarious) but he did some entertaining films
Dalton was THE man, most accurate of Fleming, not appreciated, ahead of his time etc.
Brosnan was too conservative, made the 4 weakest films, though they say he was the best thing about them (didn't agree with this part!) At one point Gatiss calls him "Roger Connery"! Didnt put his own stamp on the role.
Craig, a Bond for our time, though they were a bit cruel about his looks!
This was a great programme. At the end they both stated who was the best Bond. Sweet immediately said Dalton, Gatiss agreed, but then announced Connery! Each to his own!
