Olivia Wilde talks Casino Royale screentest and working with Craig

In a new interview with <a href="http://www.totalfilm.com/"; target="_blank">Total Film magazine</a>, actress Olivia Wilde reveals she screen-tested for the role of Vesper Lynd in "Casino Royale", but although she lost out on that part to Eva Green, it all worked out in the end...

Wilde and Craig finally got to work together on "Cowboys & Aliens", which opens later this month.

On the subject of Daniel Craig's debut as 007, Wilde said: "I screen-tested for that and I wanted it so badly. But now I’m happy it didn’t work out because we wouldn’t have been able to do [Cowboys & Aliens], and I think he agreed that this was a better pairing for us."

She also had good things to say about working with the current 007: "Daniel Craig taught me a lot. He taught me about stillness and silence… he does very little and it’s very impressive."

    I could definitely see her as a Bond girl, she's very athletic and has great looks.

    I agree, Luds. But her being in this film with Daniel hurts her chances of actually becoming a Bond girl. She is quite Bond girl material...

    It's strange to see news on Casino Royale so many years later and hey at least Wilde worked with Craig after all.

    would of loved it if the Wilde as a bond girl rumors from early 2010 were true but they weren't at least Sam Mendes is true :D

    TBH, I feel Ms Wilde has little presence on screen, she comes across as cold...I can see why she wasn't chosen as Vesper...Eva knocked it out of the ball park on that..

    I hear from reports that she and Craig have little chemistry in the Cowboys film.

    I first saw Olivia in the short-lived "Black Donnelly's" and she is one of the hottest girls on the planet. I think she would make a great Bond girl.

    The only thing I've seen her in is "House" where she plays Thirteen. She's not very good, though the problem start in the writer's room. She's basically exactly the same as Jennifer Morrison's character, Cameron, but with one major change. In the show's second season, Cameron was exposed to the blood of an HIV-positive patient, but ultimately found out that the blood never entered her system. Thirteen, on the other hand, was diagnosed with Huntington's chorea. So she's basically Cameron, but with a terminal illness.

    Her departure from the show - to go off and film COWBOYS & ALIENS - was also handled pretty poorly. So I'd be against Wilde as a Bond girl.

    It's not Olivia's fault that the writers did a crap job filling in Thirteen's absence. They could have gone down a better road though, I agree. Jail? Come on,

    This is really a once in a lifetime chance for Olivia to appear in a bond film. I don't care if she plays an ally or a henchwoman. i would really like to see her romance with Craig as bond. so if i was Olivia, i would go for it. I just hope the next bond film after skyfall, i hope there will be a vacant spot for Olivia.

    I thought that Craig and Olivia worked well together in 'Cowboys & Aliens' and had great chemistry. I think she would make a great Bond girl, good or bad. On one of the other Bond forum's, her name came up as a rumoured villainess along with Tilda Swinton and Marion Cotillard. I'd be happy with any of them..

    Not convinced she is Bond girl material. She has the look, for sure, but as someone asked can she act?

    And why do people always categorize a Bond girl as either good or bad?
